Rubber toe shatters in cold temps
These boots were incredibly warm and kept feet dry, BUT... Less than a season old, on a very cold 8° day, I stumbled and the toe of one boot SHATTERED, exposing the liner to moisture and making it a frostbite risk. I called and could not speak with a human at REI, left a message 3 times and no one ever had the courtesy to call back. Obviously there is no concern for customers who paid full price expecting high quality and good performance. It really called me to have to throw away an expensive boot less than 2 months old, and I donated the mate to a homeless ministry in case an amputee could use it.
