Merrell  Encore Ice 5 Mid Zip Boots - Women's

My son loves his boots! He ordered them online and they fit like a glove. We hiked inside a Volcano, through waterfalls, glaciers, mountains.

I like the look of these, but the fit is way off and differs between the two feet. The right foot is way too loose around the ankle and heel, with a huge gap around my foot. The left foot is a little tighter around the ankle and heel, but it too tight across the top of my foot and pinches when I walk. If they both fit like the left foot they might stretch out a little and be okay, but the right foot is way too loose. I do have narrow feet, but these didn't feel narrow at all like some others have mentioned - they would definitely be uncomfortable to walk around in because my feet would slide around.

I bought these for a trip to Canada and they have been perfect. I have worn them everyday and find them to be very comfortable. It has been very cold, -15 today, with a good amount of snow, and they have kept my feet warm and dry. I would definitely recommend them for their quality and comfort!

I bought these to replace a much older pair of Merrell snow boots that I loved. They are a close second. Very comfortable, good grip on the snow. I wish they were a little taller like my last pair. I'm also not sure if I prefer the zipper, which allows for a snugger fit in the ankle, or the previous pull-on, which are faster for me to put on and off with no hands. I do like being able to take snowy boots off without having to put down all my gear. Overall, a good boot for snowy days going to work and running around town.

Comfortable and warm for our 30 degree temps. I have a high arch and have to pull hard to get on. Heel cup can get in the way and I have to wiggle my foot in, so not the easiest to get on, but once on the comfort and warmth of these, not to mention how great they look is worth it. The heel loops are great to help get them on, without them I think they would not work for me. I wear a size 8.5 but bought in a 9 which is a good fit with winter weight socks.

As an earlier reviewer mentioned, no part of the upper is leather, which I hadn't noticed when I purchased them. It looks pretty real, but the feel and stiffness lets you know it's fake. Also, the sole is super squeaky on any indoor surface that isn't carpeting. Maybe that decreases over time, but I wasn't willing to take that chance. I will say the footbed is supportive and the toe box is roomy, but those were the only pluses for me.

This is my third pair of these mid-zip boots and I love each pair. My newest, reviewed here, has waterproofing. They are all the same design, very comfortable, extremely durable and after a year,of wear my first pair looks brand new. I live in Arizona and travel often to snowy Salt Lake City. I 68 with arthritis in my feet and these boots can be worn ALL day. The fit is true to size. Medium width. Definitely recommend!

I bought these boots in black in November 2023 to walk to work in during the rainy, cold wet winter months. I live in Vancouver, BC where winter temps. are milder and we get more rain than snow. I walk 100+ km per month and I used these boots every day last winter except 2-3 days when we had deep slippery snow. They were great! Super comfortable from the first wear. I suffer from shin splints and planter fasciitis when I wear crappy shoes, so I need supportive foot wear. I also use orthotics - which leads me into my next comment. Please don't glue the insole into the boot. I need to remove it for my orthotics and found it difficult to remove. It was securely glued and I had to destroy it to get it out of the boot. I will be purchasing another pair to use again this winter. Highly recommend for walking! I love the new brown colour options for Fall/Winter 24.

So cute! Interesting because in some reviews said fits small, others say to size. I ordered to size and found out… fits small. Probably 1/2 size up would have been fine. I also have insoles so went up a full size. It’s ok, maybe a little big but after returning once figured I’ll stick with it. The most attractive winter boots I’ve seen in a while… can’t speak to the cold/waterproofness yet!

This is my second pair of Encore Ice boots. I chose them for wear to an indoor pool and for dog walking in winter. They are so comfortable and supportive as well as warm enough to wear barefoot to the pool , making the process easier . I did prefer the non-zip version of my first pair, but these are easy enough to zip.i chose the brown version this time and think they are attractive too.
