Altra’s unique FootShape™ toe box and zero to low shoes are built to place your foot in a natural position, with a stable and confident foundation to run on. When fitting, be sure to allow a full thumb’s width in front of your toes. If your feet are used to cramped toe boxes, Altra shoes may feel a little big at first. Give your toes some time to get used to the newfound wiggle room.
Altra offers a range of FootShape fits:
Original Fit: The fit that started it all, Original is the roomiest of the 3 options from Altra.
Standard Fit: The most common fit from Altra is right in the middle of Original and Slim.
Slim Fit: The slimmest-fitting Altra option still allows room for your toes to spread out naturally.

I really enjoy the fit of the Altra Outroad--my first foot-shaped shoe. My toes have delighted in the wider toe box and zero drop. I decided this was my new brand and I then purchased the Rivera and Paradigm recently! I run regularly, but rotate between about 5 pair of shoes. However, the Outroads are already breaking down in the inside and I have had them less than 2 months. BOTH shoes have spots of wear, and one hole is through multiple layers. I only wear them every few days! So I really like the shoes, but they may not be worth it with holes forming on the inside! I want Altra to be my new go-to shoes, but not if they don't last. Very sad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Altra running shoes are very comfortable I like that they have plastic in front so it's strong and much better than just material that doesn't have protection . Also has soft nice feet pads and nice colors me design
These shoes are very comfortable. Even with the slimmer fit they are still roomier than my previous Brooks. Since I started running in them 4 months ago, the knee pain I was experiencing has gone away. My only complaint is that on one shoe a hole has formed in the top of the toe where the mesh meets the rubberized coating. Considering the cost, for a running shoe that I've only had for 4 months and put at most 250 miles on, I'm disappointed that they're already tearing. I reached out to Altra Warranty but unfortunately they consider it normal wear and tear. So, I may look for another zero-drop shoe brand when it's time to replace these shortly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These feel light as air and are very comfortable. They do run a half size small as I normally am an 8.5 in running shoes and would prefer a size 9 in these They look great on and offer a good amount of support for my outdoor trail runs. The material is almost like a structured mesh, which adds to the comfortability and how light it is. The rounded toe box is very flattering. Overall I'm obsessed with the fit (although runs slightly small) and love the colors. *I received these for free in exchange for a review
I use these shoes for work. I was excited to try them as i have outer foot bunion, with which these helped greatly! But the tongue is stiff and stabs me in the front of the ankle, and the inside of the shoe by the ankle has an open seam with 2 bulky lace holders that cause blisters, even with a cotton athletic sock on.
I initially got the size I normally get which is 5.5 in the original Outroads, After wearing them a couple times, my feet hurt just way too much! I contacted Altra and had no problems returning them and purchasing a new one at a size 6. They fit so much better! It's not too tight and they feel great! The Bravey color is cute and flashy! I love the shiny gold laces! I haven't ran in them, I only wore them to work (standing around for 8 hours) and have done Koko Crater Stairs with them. Love them so much, but I recommend getting them in a half size bigger from the OG Outroads. Mahalo!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received these shoes for free in exchange for my review. However, I am extremely impressed with these and am looking at grabbing another pair to alternate! It's not a typical color I would choose for myself but i absolutely love them. These support my narrow foot but have a wide toe box still which I feel will hold up better over time than others I've had in the past. They have a great amount of cushion while also offering exceptional support while running. I don't feel like they're too stiff or too soft. I've already bragged about them to some fellow runners! Highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great walking shoe! I love the comfortability and look of this brand.
Lifelong runner here. Narrower toe box than some altras I've had. Unfortunately I've concluded that these shoes are contributing to peroneal tendinitis for me (lateral foot pain and/or lateral lower leg pain in my case). I'm not sure if it's the narrower toe box or if the heel doesn't grip me enough to stay in a proper alignment? I've gone through several pairs of lone peaks without issues, though you do need to ease into lone peaks and alternate them out with other shoes so that your calf muscles have time to build. I plan to keep my lone peaks in the rotation, unfortunately the Outroad 2's didn't work for me.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been trying the women's Outroad 2 sneakers for about 5 of my workouts now. At first glance, the styling of this shoe is a little busy compared to what I normally wear, and the sole is very thick. When I put the shoes on I could immediately tell they were great quality and my back felt supported. The bottoms have great grip which is perfect for outdoor mixed terrain running. I ordered these in my normal sneaker size 8, but I believe I could benefit from a 7.5. The toe is my biggest complaint as mine is way too roomy. This sneaker has width options, and next time I will go with a more narrow fit. Overall, I would recommend these shoes to an outdoor runner, and tell a gym goer to skip them.
