This is an awesome tent. I use it 2 times a month with my wife for car camping. It’s durable And roomy. Easy organizational pockets and keeps hard rain out with no trouble. Easy set up. I love this tent, and yes it is bulky, but as expected for the durability

Was super excited to get this tent, as it was a modest (not cheap, not super expensive) option for my scout. We have had great success with Coleman products over the years, this one was a total let down from the start.
First: The poles are ATTACHED to the tent, they are not separate. I get conceptually how this was thought to be a good idea, but what a major pain when trying to role the tent up. The front two corners are attached to the poles. This is also causing some issues when trying to hang the tent to try out.
Second: As always, the bag that comes with he tent. forget it. You will need a master's degree to get it folded right to get it back in there. (this is also where the poles attached to the tent, fail). As a Scoutmaster, I have folded hundreds of tents over the many years. And forget it.. this one isn't going back in. We went out and made our own bag for it. I don't know why Coleman can't simply make a slip sack like the REI tents, that have extra room.
Third: Setup, so this had exactly what we wanted, the external frame, no slip sleeves for the poles. and they were pretty good. the top connection was interesting, but I can see this as being a point of failure. The peak is held with just two clips, on one pole. If one of those clips fail, the criss-cross of the poles are going to slip, and cause an issue.
Lastly, the first actual campout with the tent (after two practice session of setup...), total failure in the weather. It rain, and it was a substantial rain... total collapse (as seen in the picture). no other tent except the "brand new" tent, collapsed over the weekend. This was so frustrating. Everything inside completely soaked, and some things permanently damaged.
So frustrated with the tent, need to do an evaluation to see if anything cracked or broke, but very likely this will be returned to REI.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We absolutely love our Coleman Dark Room Skydome camping tent! It was so easy to set up. It is very well made It comes with a carrying bag which is nice, we also like that the poles to this tent stay attached and had a little Velcro strap that keeps them all together, there is a nylon cover for the top of the the tent to prevent rain from entering. It also provides adequate room for up to 6 people to sleep comfortable It holds a big queen size air mattress easily and it stays pretty dark. I would definitely recommend it to those who are looking for space and comfort.

Crap materials - Rusty connectors out of the box

Received today. Opened to check it out before our family camping trip and.... Pole connections are rusty and corroded. The material they use isn't up to snuff and clearly not tested or they don't care. If they can't hold up in a box in a warehouse without starting to rot out, they definitely won't withstand the elements.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this tent so far! I haven't taken it on the road yet but have camped in quite a few tents around the US in various degrees (from 36 degrees to 90). This tent was so easy to set up. The poles are pre-attached to two of the corners so you just have to unfold them and guide them in place on the top of the tent. The rain fly was also so easy! Our first try (there were two of us, but this could easily be done by one person) it took us about 5 minutes to set up (which is what the tent estimated). This beats setting up my old small two person tent by about 5 full minutes. The inside was very spacious and dark (see the photo!) It lived up true to it's name. I loved the inner pocket and hammock at the top of the tent to hold gear you want to quickly find (flashlight in the middle of the night). I also loved how it actually fit back into the bag it came in. Coleman put extra space in the bag so you don't struggle getting it back packed away. Overall the packed away size is still small and perfect for car camping! Highly recommend. This could definitely fit 6 as advertised!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am absolutely ecstatic about my 6-Person Dark Room Skydome Camping tent in blue that I purchased a month ago! This was the best purchase I've me in a long time! The room in it is beyond words! It's 6 foot tall in the middle and can sleep 6. It was so easy to set up and take down. There was plenty of room for our whole family and it's so durable. It even has a cover for rain and you can tie it down in case the weather gets bad. My children and my basset hound had the absolute best time camping and because this tent was so durable and easy to set up and take down, we had lots of time to enjoy our little vacation. We have decided to take another camping trip soon and can't wait to use it again. My son has some health issues and this tent has Dark Room Technology which blocks 90% of the sunlight and reduces heat in the tent, which makes it better for people that have issues with the heat. This works amazingly too, because my son stayed cool and we were able to enjoy our trip because of this. It's also been designed and tested for storm conditions, which helps me breath much easier knowing we are safe. The amount of room in this tent is unlike any tent I have ever seen. The carrying bag made it so easy to take along, the wide door design made it easier to get in and out of, the storage pockets gave us room to put stuff out of the way, and the detachable rainfly gave me peace of mind. I felt so safe and secure and could focus on my trip and having fun with the kids knowing we chose this tent! We love it!

It is a five minute set up so easy that my child did it for me it is huge. The tent is quite large definitely able to fit six person. It is a dome in a dark room so high ceilings. Plenty of space definitely dark blocks out 90% of the sunlight verified highly recommend Coleman is a great brand, I can imagine this lasting as a lifetime of camping trips

It leaked during a 2-3 hour rain storm. We think it came through the lowest seam about 4 in up from the ground. Then our dog tripped over the cord for the rain fly and the outer lime green trim tore away from the rest of the rain fly. This was our first and only time using it! It should be more durable than that! Pluses are that it is roomy, and the dark room is great for early morning sun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great little tent! I would have given it 5 stars if it didnt need a repair right out of the package. One of the corner straps where you put a tent stake was not sewn in right. It's not a huge deal if you know how to sew like me, but I don't like having to fix a brand new item. Besides that flaw this tent is great. The entire top of the tent is screen, if you want to leave the rainguard off you can get a good breeze going in there. Once you put the rainguard on, it is pitch black inside. It really does keep it cooler inside though. I put this tent up in the evening when it was 80 degrees, the tent stayed cool all night even with the front window flap open. There was zero condensation on the inside of the tent in the morning, and it is very humid where I live. That is a huge plus for me because I have never had a tent that didnt get soggy overnight. This tent is very roomy inside, it also has a multipocket flap on the inside for storing things in. It also has a little hammock for the ceiling for storing a light or some snacks. The setup is very easy, I wouldnt say 5 minutes, maybe more like 15. Although I may be able to put it up faster the next time I have to. All in all I think this is a great tent with nice innovations.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Coleman 6 person Dark Room Skydome Camping Tent and it is amazing! This tent is huge! We can easily and comfortably fit two adults and three preteen kids inside. We also placed a blow up queen sized mattress inside to test and it still had plenty of room to move around. I love how easy the tent was to set up. The poles are built into the tent so no worrying about losing one in between uses. I also really loved the dark room feature. Once all zippers are closed it is pitch black inside, no light gets in at all. The tent is also very easy to disassemble and in spite of how large the tent is is very compact and easy to store. The quality of this tent is really great and I know we have a blast using it for quite some time! I would highly recommend this tent!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, even the packaging was nice and easy to open. The tent comes with everything needed to just set it up and go. It was very easy to put up and did not take long at all. Very durable and the dark room technology is definitely there(you really get darkness). We noticed the ability to expand the bag to replace the tent when not in use, a great feature by the way!! The overhead storage and side pockets are nice. Overall a great tent, and we are looking forward to our next trip out with it!!
