Better than an ice chest
I have been using my GoSun Chill cooler for about a year. I gave up though on the battery pack that comes with it - it wouldn't take a full charge with the provided solar panel and didn't last as needed. I now plug it into my van cigarette lighter when traveling and then move it over to my van solar system when not driving. I will also plug it in when I have electric outlets available. It keeps everything cool as promised and seems to be pretty efficient, as it barely even puts a dent in my auxiliary battery voltage. The only issue I'm having is a weird smell - it's kind of a chemical like smell, but I can't quite figure out how to describe it. But it's pretty noxious and it does permeate into any food that is not sealed air tight. That would be my only real complaint.
Efficient and quiet - great as an RV fridge
For two years we've used this in our camper van. It's very quiet, holds a lot of food, and gets cold quickly depending on your power source. We keep it plugged into the van while driving and use the solar-chargeable battery at camp. The wheels make it easy to bring into the house to charge with a wall plug and fill up for a trip. We recently ran into a full-time RV couple use one as their primary refrigerator.
Excellent for parties and for backup cooling
I bought this as an emergency backup for power outages and it has served that purpose well (though it is critical to remember to keep the battery charged!) However, I've also found it great for parties. Particularly now as people are just emerging into socializing with others again, it's awkward to dig through a cooler full of melted ice and wonder who else's hands have been in there and what kinds of germs they were carrying! With this cooler, the drinks stay super cold with no ice at all - and dry and easy to access. I've tested it for making ice, too, and it works great for that. Would definitely recommend. I find it somewhat noisy when the compressor is running but I solve that by setting it at 33 degrees for a few hours before an event or having to be in the same room with it, then raise the temp to 37 or so so the compressor won't kick in. The insulation is also really good - I turned it off entirely after a recent party and the drinks were still very cold 24 hours later.
Definitely worth the price!
We bought this for vacation. We had a long drive and then stayed in a hotel for a few days before staying with friends. It was super convenient to have both plugs as we plugged it into the wall to get cold before leaving and then plugged it into the car when we were ready to leave. The temperature in the cooler remained at the same temperature whether it was in the lighter or in a wall the entire week. Definitely worth the price! Would recommend to anyone who wants to travel with a cooler and not waste space with ice.
Love my Chill that never needs Ice!
I have taken my Gosun Chill to picnics and the beach. The battery keeps my food and drinks cold all day long. My friends were amazed that it was so portable, but didn't need any ice. I sure don't miss soggy sandwiches!
This is a fantastic cooler
I liked my first Chill so much, I got a second one to use as a freezer. This gives me great peace of mind in the event of an extended power outage.
Great option for cold food. No more ice messes
Solid for camping. I also use it at home for extra storage. Battery is solid for about 24 hours camping and 12V works well in the car
No more soggy food
Easy to work. Keeps cold food cold without ice. And you can make your own ice. I love the cooler.
great cooler
It’s a great cooler and keeps your items cold. if you have ice in the cooler the machine doesn’t have to work so hard, you save battery, the ice doesn’t melt and you can freeze your items and/or have perfect bits of ice in your drinks . Wish the cooler had real handles for gripping and more rigorous tires .
Awesome cooler
This cooler has performed flawlessly thus far and I couldn't be happier. Even when it got really hot in my truck my drinks stayed very nice and cool. The price tag was a little bit intimidating but I am so glad I went ahead and spent the money. Well worth it.
