I have bought this UltrAspire running vest based on reviews that I have read. And I am so happy I did. I am on the malaise, 5’0, 112 lbs and this fits me well. I ran in the summer and in the winter over my clothes and no problems whatsoever. I had used this on my Iceland, Greenland, Antarctica and New Zealand marathon and did a great job. It can hold 2 flasks in the back, a pocket for my tiny cellphone, only got emergency. Several pockets in front to hold my gels and snd other things. I prefer not to have water on my chest, as I think that would be too uncomfortable as I would imagine it would be bouncy. The flask hold half a liter each, so this would be adequate for my 12-15 mile training in the cold months. Summer, I add another hip belt. I wouldn’t buy another vest as this has served me well.
I used my Basham race vest this weekend on my first 50 mile trail race and I loved how it fits my body! No chafing, I could fit enough water, fuel and first aid in all the pockets!! The only complaint is the cap of the bottle that comes with the vest can be a little tricky to put on, otherwise it's likely to leak!!
Where to start. I love how this sits higher up on my chest, which minimizes heat on my back. This was my first time carrying one bottle in the back and it's now a necessity. I don't like carrying much weight and so it being centered is awesome. I also don't like all that weight in the front, so it being stored in the back similar to the bladder is great. I have done events ranging from Marathon to 100M in my Basham vest. Perfect fit. I'm 5'-10" and 145 - 155lbs for reference. Highly recommended.
Super light weight, fits good (I’m 115lb & 5’6 & have lg breasts), good pockets, comfortable, no rubbing, and not constructive around armpits. I also feel more attractive in it than my Nathan pack. Only modification is because I have all the straps tight, there’s a lot of extra strings hanging—not ideal, also a little hard to get to the cellphone on my back. Overall, trail running is even more fun now.
Love this vest! Super lightweight and breathable, but enough pockets to carry the essentials and hydration for my trail races.
my 1st vest was the Revolt by Ultraspire, for my 50k run I needed something with a little more room. I hate the red color of the Revolt so I was hesitant to buy the Basham, but I went with it and SO happy I did. the color is more of a Burgandy and the fit was perfect! Gives the extra food room and storage for gloves and such. I love it holds 2 500ml water bottles easily. I don't like to use a bladder but I drink alot of water. Ultraspire nailed this vest for women! Its perfect!
I've tried a several different vests from various manufactures and UltrAspire is the best, hands down! The Basham has more than enough pockets and storage for any race and yet is quite light and minamist. It does not have room for a bladder, which is fine with me because it can carry a combo of bottles/flasks and it still has plenty of room for gels, food, gloves, hat, lip balm, etc. The ergo fit is what sets this vest apart. You forget you have it on it's so light and comfortable. The material is airy and lightweight so you won't overheat wearing it.
Just got this in the mail. Did a 3 mile run and no issues. Had a tank top on and no rubbing. I’m 5ft and 120 lb with 32b chest. It held my iPhone 13pro (standard size) without issues. Used a water bottle (16oz) I had on hand and not the one included with it. It held the water bottle without issues. Great product and worth the cost.
I always run in Salomon hydration vests but wanted something a bit lighter and cooler for shorter runs so I thought I would try this. This vest is amazing from everything to 5 milers to 10 plus mile runs. I have very broad shoulders and deal with pain and tightness if I have too much weight on my back from too heavy of a pack on long runs. The water bottle placement on this vest totally eliminates the pain I used to have from carrying heavy bladders. I took this on a 15 mile hot run in Vegas and I had the bottle that comes with it filled, then I placed two soft flasks in the magnetic back pocket and it still felt so light. It seriously keeps you much cooler than regular hydration vests. I also had zero chaffing from this. You can fit a ton of stuff in this too. The pockets are very generous and the cell phone pocket is pretty awesome. It fits every body type and size since it's so adjustable so that is a huge plus. I strongly recommend this pack! I plan on using it for part of my 100 miler in September! With high temps and the need for extra water, you can seriously use this for longer runs than you may thin due to the storage for extra water.
Love this lightweight, breathable vest. The magnetic closure on the back pocket is genius and keeps everything in place. I add a second water bottle into that pocket and have more than enough. Perfect for a training run and everything is easily accessible while on the go. I’m petite and it fits well but the elasticity of the strings can easily accommodate numerous sizes.
