Only for people with good close-up vision
It's a nifty gadget and I like that it's more compact and brighter than my old Fitbit Alta, with better battery life. But it has a fatal flaw: the font size for the stats is tiny. And I'm only 46! And I get by without reading glasses! It'll be fine if you still have your close-up vision. But if you have any trouble at all reading small print, you're out of luck. I suppose Fitbit thinks people take reading glasses to the gym. There are lots of options for changing the appearance of the display, but they're all about the look of it. You can have a cute owl on your display, for example. But in all of them, the display has huge numbers for the time and tiny numbers for the stats. I have other ways to tell time. I bought a Fitbit for stats. I'll be returning it.
Very Disappointed
I've been wearing the Inspire 2 for 6 days now after my Ionic (which I loved) crashed. I have to say I've been very disappointed. It consistently records way too many steps than I average. I've been wearing a Fitbit since 2014 so I'm very aware of what my average is and have the same workout routine every day of the week. I contacted customer service and was told to delete and re-pair. Didn't solve the problem. I don't find it very user friendly either. I was trying to figure out how to start a workout and I accidentally started a run and it took be about 10 minutes to figure out how to stop it and I'm still not sure what I did to stop the workout. Hopefully an update fixes the step issues.
Too Tough to See - Especially Outside
It's difficult to see in sunlight - this is when you use it, right? The display is small, and that was a the choice we made, but it also makes navigating nd reading exceptionally difficult - especially outside and on the move. The app interface is great, but the wearable doesn't always realize that we were on bikes or swimming or whatever specific activity we were undertaking. It counts steps, tracks zone minutes - although those seem pretty random at times - and does that well. That's it.
Stopped working < 1 year
I purchased on May 11, 2021. Two days ago the Fitbit stopped charging and no longer works. An odd battery icon displayed prior to it not working. I doubt I will be able to return but will attempt today.
Great when it works but finicky
I basically want to track my steps and get reminders to move. I use Fitbit because I like the app and it also Tracy my weight through a connected scale. The inspire is great when it works. However, it’s constantly going into do not disturb mode. The workaround is to go into water lock mode. Unfortunately it unlocks itself which defeats the point. Raising the arm sometimes activates the screen and sometimes not. Finally it only holds a charge for a few days. all I want is simple functionality and the device is frustrating.
Thumbs Down to Fitbit.
Just like always, the app and the device have a hard time communicating with each other, and the display is impossible to read outdoors. Not much better indoors! Waste of money.
You get what you pay for?
I've found it to be pretty disappointing, but I suppose at $100 it might be worth the expense? I use it as a watch, and I figure most watches I'd consider come in at around that much, haha. I'm a small person, and I've found the band has stretched - I've had it about 6 months and it is almost too large for me now. Apparently this defect is not covered by the warranty. The loose band has also made the heart rate tracking inconsistent. But mostly, I find the app annoying. I just want a tracker - I don't want inspirational messages or advice. This feels more like it's for serial dieters and people who count steps, not for active people who want to information to better manage their fitness levels. I'll try a different brand next time!
Decent 'first time user' tracker
I've been experiencing this gadget for about 2 mos - walking, swimming, bicycling, living. Never have used anything to monitor and save my heart rate fluctuations before. I can't attest to it's absolute accuracy, but it seems so, and trends seem to be consistent. I'd say it's worth it - especially because it was a health plan freebie (Kaiser)!!
Unreliable
Useful for keeping track of your steps, that feature is fairly accurate, but not much else. Most people have a phone capable of that so... The hourly reminder to get up and move doesn't always work. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't, no matter what I try. The app is ok but plan on spending quite a bit of time if you want to learn about all the features and become proficient at using them. The heart rate monitor is not accurate. When I put 2 of these on my wrist side by side, or left and right arms, the numbers will be off from each other by up to 20 bpm unless your sitting absolutely still. The free year of Premium seemed like a nice bonus but for me personally offers absolutely zero benefits. Fitbit doesn't allow reviews on their own website which in this day and age should raise some eyebrows. Overall I don't think I'd recommend without giving other brands a serious look.
Perfect fitness tracker for a beginner!
This watch does basically everything I want it to do and at a much more reasonable cost than the Apple watches in my personal opinion. To be fair, I don't know what all an apple watch can do that this one can't but I don't feel like anything is missing. It automatically tracks my workouts without me having to input that I'm starting a workout which I love. I also love tracking my sleeping patterns, mood patterns, heart rate, steps, calories burned etc. The reason it is not 5/5 is because I personally find the water lock feature difficult to work with. During my swimming workouts I would like to be able to time myself using the watch but it has a hard time switching in and out of water lock mode and it will not show me my stats while it is water locked, instead it shows a black screen which is annoying. But overall, definitely worth the investment if you're new to fitness trackers and you want something to help you stay on track with your fitness goals.
