I was doubtful but this was a game changer for me. Camping in the Eastern Sierras. Temp at night was dropping to low teens. First night I didn't take it out and had a bad night of sleep due to the cold. Second night was eye-opening. 100% improvement. When it's sub 30, I'll never be too lazy to put it on again. One word of advice: Make sure you understand how it is sized. I'm 5'8" and the size Large was what the sizing chart advised. It was right. Fit perfectly.
I read so many reviews to get the right size and after all of that, it was still too small. Very cool but small. If you are like me and do not prefer to be all jumbled up in a sleeping bag, then this is the perfect alternative. We will be going to Zion and I was looking for the perfect fun cold weather item to play outside in. I am 5'8 and 190lbs. The Selk bag was constricting. I couldn't touch my toes. I am a side sleeper and prefer to curl up a little. I loved the dark blue color of this bag with the orange zippers. I am going to reorder the larger size. Now having said that, I now know that the XL will not fit my husband who is 6'2 and 190lbs.
I had no idea what I was getting myself into with the Selk'bag. It's freaking amazing! So easy to slide on over clothes. I am 6’1 ft tall and ordered the XL as recommended. It runs a bit large, but as they recommend, this is intentional to give you freedom of movement and certainly more comfortable while sleeping or laying down. It’s very warm. I use it often when camping without the booties, especially when cool outside. I’m not getting this off, probably using it year-round!
Bought the XL size, as I’m 6ft 180 lbs but it doesn’t fit. Not well enough to really walk around the camp comfortably. They basically need an XXL version. Build quality seems decent, and it is warm. I was just expecting it to not reduce my mobility. Like sitting in a chair and leaning toward it is too tight.
My wife and I toss it on for walking the dog in Minnesota winters and it's the best thing ever. Very well made, plenty of pockets, and I've found the mobility to be excellent.
I gave this as a gift to my husband. He loves it! He wears it when walking outside, even in the frigid Midwest weather this past week, and it keeps him warm and cozy.
Was not prepared for how "nice" this product is! I was expecting kind of flimsy and thin'ish. SO wrong. The outer material is sturdy. The inner liner is soft and silky. Easy to put on, take off and stow in the stuff sack. VERY PLEASED!! Female, 5' 5" with athletic build.
