Temperature ratings are intended as a guideline to help you compare products, rather than a guarantee of warmth, since many different factors contribute to your comfort while you sleep. Backpacking bags are typically rated for temperature according to an independent testing protocol—currently International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 23537, though some older items followed European Norm (EN) 13537. Testing is based on a person wearing one base layer and a pair of socks, sleeping on an insulated surface with a minimum R-value of 5.38.

Each bag then gets 2 ratings: the Comfort rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "cold sleeper" comfortable, and the Lower Limit rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "warm sleeper" comfortable. Some brands determine their own temperature rating by aligning to the Comfort rating for women’s bags, to the Lower Limit rating for men’s bags, or somewhere in the middle for nongendered bags.

Luxury Sleeping bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m super impressed with the quality of this sleeping bag. It is beyond comfortable with duck down feathers that are safe to get wet. It has so many features for a sleeping bag such as, many different zippers , pockets, a phone holder. It folds up so small and compact. I love that they do field tests with their products before they sell them. Definitely high end quality.

High quality products

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sea to Summit makes high-quality products and this sleeping bag is no exception. We already have a sleeping bag from this brand, so I didn’t have any doubts when ordering this one. It is super lightweight but very warm. All the detailing is precise and crafted perfectly. The sleeping bag is warm and it is very comfortable. The insulation is distributed evenly throughout the bag. it comes in this storage bag, but there’s also an included attachment to clip it to your backpack. It doesn’t take a lot of space, but it can be even packed more tightly.

Light and easy to carry

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag really surprised me. When I got it and felt how light it was I didn’t expect it to keep warmth or be comfortable. Once unpacked the bag expanded to nearly double the thickness. It was also easy to roll back up and it into the storage bag where I’ve had to fight with other bags to get bag in its storage bag.

Incredibly light & versatile sleeping bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sea to Summit Basecamp Down Sleeping Bag is like a cozy cocoon for chilly nights under the stars! Its 15°F/-9°C rating will keep you snug even when the temperatures drop. What's impressive is how it manages to be incredibly warm while also feeling as light as a feather. You definitely won’t even notice the weight if you plan on hiking with this! The spacious design, adjustable hood, and draft opening in the bottom are thoughtful touches that promise a comfortable snooze. I can't wait to take it out on my summer adventures and experience firsthand how it delivers on warmth, comfort, and lightweight convenience!

Comfy and warm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband is 6 foot tall and 250 lbs and was able to fit comfortably in this Basecamp Down sleeping bag from Sea to Summit with plenty of room to spare. This sleeping bag comes in its own storage bag and a thin bag was included. Plus it’s orange which he loves. Now we need to book a camping trip. I received this product compliments of Influenster.

Light and Warm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am impressed with this sleeping bag. The size is huge and super roomy for one person. You won’t feel restricted at all. It’s warm and super light. If you ever want to hike and carry this with you, you won’t feel it at all. But I am not sure if I love this burnt orange colored one. :-).

Super comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely dig this Basecamp bag. This bag is of great quality. I recently went on a 3 night camping trip. I have a 4runner that I am able to sleep in with plenty of room so I got the Basecamp bag to use in it. The bag is very big with plenty of wiggle room, which is important to me since I flip and flopp around at night. There is also space for the next days clothes I can keep in the bag. The zippers allow for the bag to open in various configurations. -1°c and I was toasty warm. P. s. I sleep with two windows open that i mesh over for that fresh air feeling.
