Great Activity Tracker...

This is a great activity tracker, Fitbit has the best app. This watch has GPS, however, it take a bit for it to connect to GPS when starting a run/walk. The sleep stages have been right on, and are interesting to look at. The HR readings seem to be spot on with all the exercise I do. Walking, running, yoga, Step aerobics, body sculpting. As usual with a wrist HR, a little lag when lifting weights, but not bad. The most accurate star tracking I have ever had in a wearable (I have owned several Garmin). This watch is perfect for someone interesting in tracking their activity. You really can't go wrong. However, this is not a true smart watch, so if you are wanting smart watch features look for something else. But, if all you want is in activity tracker with some smart watch features this is for you. It is slightly big, but looks nice, not dressy.

Greatly Disapointed

I really wanted to like this product. After reading the luke-warm / negative reviews on-line, I purchased the Fitbit Ionic anyway; and I'm sorry I did. My two main complains which drove me to return it 4 hours after purchase were, 1) after spending 3 hours troubleshooting (1.5 with Fitbit's customer support team) I was still unable to figure out how to upload music to the watch, 2) the customer service team members I spoke with (all of which were based in South America) we're not very empathetic, nor were they trained on how to troubleshoot the Ionic.

Ionic for value - I Give this a 4-1/2 out of 5

Ionic has 4-5 days of battery life so I can wear it to sleep every night. I have learned to focus on my sleep better as a result of the much improved sleep data. Long walks and jogs counting steps in my head then comparing the number tells me that this is spot on even when my hand is in my pocket. I love the heart rate info too. It has gotten me to consider a more holistic approach to my health. The things that make me choose this over other trackers and watches: -Battery life is better than other smartwatches (Gear Sport is supposed to match it). -App is rife with data. Dashboard tells all quickly. Phone and Desktop apps really are special. -Coach/Trainer simply guides you through workout, -Shows you how to do an exercise in workout if you don't know what it is. -GPS works nicely and it maps your run when you get to you -tracks your pace and distance with pulses at half mile... -Gently let's you know if you haven't moved in a while. -Tracks floors climbed really well (about 10ft/floor). -Has touchless pay, so don't need phone or wallet -Has Starbucks pay "app" -Music -My longest period so far without a charge is 6-1/2 days. Shortest was 3-1/2 (was down to 19%) -I don't give it a 5 stars only because the FitBit Apps are minimal so far. I have a phone and I prefer it's form factor for emails, texts, and using most apps.

Great Fitness Watch

I preordered this watch and I have had it over a month now. I love it!! I wear this over my garmin fenix 5. It connects to gps faster than my garmin fenix 5. I love that you can put music on the watch and I had no issues putting music on the watch. I also like that you can listen to pandora stations on this watch and again had no issues setting this up. Just read the instructions I know one thing people miss is the watch can’t be connected to any other Bluetooth device when you are transferring music. I would highly recommend this watch and believe me I have tried a lot of other watches. Also the sleep tracking is great and the Fitbit app is easy to navigate.

Only lasted 16 months, then bricked

Avoid the Fitbit brand. The quality isn’t there and their customer service indicates they lack both desire and resources to stand by their brand. I bought my ionic in May 2018 and it worked great until last week when the display became unresponsive to touch. I called Fitbit tech support and they had me perform a factory reset, after which the watch became unable to power on. Totally unresponsive. Tech support said that because it was 4 months out of warranty, I was on my own, but they could only offer a 25% coupon toward a new device. A quick search on Ionic watches bricking after a recent software update should show the magnitude of this problem.

Dies just out of warranty

I have been a Fitbit user for years, and decided to upgrade to an Ionic. I received it as a gift Christmas 2017. After a few initial setup issues, it worked smoothly. I really loved my Ionic while it worked. Then at 14 months of use, it just up and died. Fitbit support's solution was say sorry it's out of warranty but you can spend $160 on another one. Apparently these devices are designed just to last through the warranty period. Fitbit community forums have pages and pages of comments from users with the exact same issues. Faulty product that the company will not stand behind...stay far away!!

Perfect for what I need!

I have had my Fitbit Ionic for a little over a month now. I love the fact that it has accurate stats, a good GPS, and integrates with other fitness apps like MyFitnessPal. I am a runner/jogger, and I feel that it accurately tracks both my outdoor and indoor exercise activities. I wasn't sure if I would like the orange and blue combination, but it makes the watch stand out. Overall, if you are looking for a device with a good battery life, notifications, strong fitness tracking, and some of the bells and whistles of a smartwatch without reaching the point of techno-oversaturation, you'll like the Fitbit Ionic.

Fitbit Addict - finally converted

I received my Fitbit Ionic in May. I have a whole fitbit community - family and friends spread across the country, and I have purchased 5 - yes FIVE other fitbits - two which replaced duds after their 1 year warranty failure. In less than 2 months - it died, while I was swimming at the beach (salt water). Because I was traveling - the repair has taken me more than a month (I still don't have it). When I get it back, I will return it and purchase something with better reliability. I love the software - but the hardware SUCKS! If anyone can recommend another device, I would appreciate it.

I expected more

I love the fit brand and this is my third generation of tracker so I had high expections. It is disappointing most of the apps are proprietary and don’t interface with other programs. The Pandora app requires a premium account and that costs more money. Not all credit cards can be loaded into the wallet app. With the latest IOS update the Ionic wouldn’t sync and eventually had to be reset and data was lost. I like the display, the buttons are easy to use and the tracker interfaces intuitively with the Apple app. I just expected more functionality out of the box for the cost.

Best Fitness Smart Watch for The Money!

The Fitbit Iconic has all the fitness features (GPS, heart rate, waterproof, sleep, multiple workout options including swimming) you need plus the all the smart watch features you would actually use (notifications for messages, calls, calendar Whatsapp),Apps for Uber/Lyft, Starbucks, United Airlines, and more to come. It also has Fitbit pay, similar to Apple pay. Compared to the Apple Watch, which costs $60 to $130 more depending on size and configuration, It is a no brainer. It has a lower profile on your wrist, lighter weight, and 4 days of battery life compared to less than a day on the apple watch! Simpler interface and excels where it is meant to, fitness and health. I was a little skeptical at first when my girlfriend got the Iconic instead of the Apple Watch, but after seeing her use it for a month, I immediately went out and bought one too. Love it!

Great Performance Watch

First, I love all the bells and whistles in this Fit Bit. I find it to be competitive with the Apple Watch, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. Second, the watch is far more comfortable than the Surge. My only complaint is with the wrist band. I had to return one model because the wrist band kept falling off. Luckily, I didn't lose my watch, but the replacement works perfectly, so watch for that when you first get it.
