Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for backpacking! This flashlight/lantern combo is perfect for backpacking! It's extremely lightweight so it won't bog down your pack, and it runs on just one AA battery! The two different settings are great - a) collapse it and hang it in your tent to be used like a lantern, or b) expand it to use it like a flashlight. The single push button lets you cycle through three light settings: 1) bright, 2) dim, and 3) strobe. This makes adjusting the output a breeze. At just $15, this lantern/flashlight combo provides the perfect amount of light, a great combo of functionality, and is the perfect size/weight for backpacking. Highly recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Weird memory mode.. I got this for my kid as the color is great and easy ti find. It has a push button tailcap which makes activating it easy and the button is easy to find in an emergency. Good output for a single AA battery. That being said, I don't mind having a memory mode in lights but this is the first light I've come across that does remember the last mode but starts in the NEXT mode in the sequence. Sequence low then high then strobe then back to low, etc. So if I do use high last, the next time I turn on the light, it does so in a disorienting strobe. Not good for emergencies especially those expecting a steady beam. I would rather not have any memory mode if this is the case. Just always start in low, then cycle through instead. Even if it isn't for emergencies, like just using it in camp, if it starts in strobe and others aren't aware, it's startling for everyone especially since everyones eyes are mostly night adjusted due to being outdoors. Then everyone's night vision is shot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size for every day use I got this as a gift and didn't think much of it until I used it camping last weekend. It's very small which means you can keep it on you vs wondering where you put your huge flashlight after dark. It's lantern mode is good for chillin at the table or area light in the tent. Surprisingly bring for only 1 battery. I've since researched UCO and see they are a Seattle Company.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A little cheap Biggest complaint: when in flashlight mode, the light is still visible from the side and somewhat blinding. Also, when you turn on the light, it sometimes turns on in strobe mode. The lantern mode isn't real smooth or concise either. Pros: lightweight and bright.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Little Lantern I bought this for my 5 year old son and he absolutely loves it. He takes it with him just about everywhere. I like the little shock cord fastener so you can attach it to different things. My son was even able to attach it to one of his Nurf Guns. The light itself puts out a good amount of light and has with stood the abuse of a 5 year old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiny Size - Big Light I love that this tiny little piece has two modes - flashlight or lantern. It's easy to hang and produced plenty of light for us to cook dinner or read in the tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful, Compact, Versatile This is a handy little lantern, puts out a good amount of light for its size. The strap makes it nice and easy to have it on a low tree branch over your area. Flashlight functions well in both high and low settings. I don't like the strobe feature, wish it didn't have that.
