Coast  EAL75R 2000 Lumen Voice-Control Rechargeable Telescoping Lantern

I received my light a couple of weeks ago and wanted to put it through its paces. This light is phenomenal. Battery charge life is way more than I expected. I live in the country and the wife, and I have animals that need tending too at night sometimes. We have used the light around the house checking on and tending to animals several nights. I took the light out on a three-day camping trip and have yet to charge the battery. The light is still running on the original charge that it came with. The ease of use is great. Tripod holds the light extremely well even when the telescoping light is fully extended. Voice command works very well. The telescoping light has come in very handy. That light being able to move directionally has been a huge help. I couldn't be Happier. Keep up the excellent work COAST. You have a customer for life!

I've had this light for about 2 weeks now. When my son came to visit his first comment was, "That could come in pretty handy!" My 3 grandsons thought it was the coolest light ever, with a push button pop out tripod and voice command. They played with it for about 10 minutes each, opening and closing the tripod, and telling the light which mode they wanted. Together we've decided that it will come in handy as a tent lantern in the back yard, a fishing lantern, and a work lantern providing general illumination plus an aimable task light on top. Personally, I believe it will come in handy for those stormy nights when the grid fails, and I'm sitting in the dark.

Hello friends, I’m a COAST field tester and was recently sent the EAL75R to put through its paces. After spending quite some time with it, I can say this is one of those lights that I keep finding new uses for. I haven’t had the opportunity to take it camping yet due to the extreme Arizona summer heat, but it has already become one of my go to lights around the house, outside, and especially in the shop. It’s lightweight for everything it packs in, rechargeable, surprisingly powerful, and far more versatile than I expected. It can function as a lantern, path light, directional work light, night light, and even a rather large flashlight when needed. One of my favorite features is the telescoping ARC light. It extends above the lantern and can be rotated to put light where you actually need it instead of simply illuminating everything around you. Between the ARC light and the 360-degree lantern, you can light a work area, throw light down a path, illuminate a room, or combine them when you need a lot of light. At full output, this little unit can put out up to 2,000 lumens. The built-in deployable legs are another feature I initially thought was just a nice extra but have ended up appreciating quite a bit. They tuck away neatly when you don't need them and give the light a much more stable footprint when it's extended or sitting on an uneven surface. This is also my first experience with a light that uses voice commands. The EAL75R has more than 20 commands, and I'm apparently still discovering what it can do. I really like being able to turn the voice control on or off rather than being committed to using it. When I'm working with dirty or full hands, being able to control the light without touching it is genuinely useful. It hears me pretty well under normal conditions, although I've found that it can occasionally struggle with commands when there's a lot of background noise. There are multiple color temperatures, and having warm, white, and daylight options makes a bigger difference than I expected depending on what I'm doing. The variable brightness control through the voice system is especially useful when full power is simply too much light. I've also been having fun finding the bonus modes. Flame mode is one of my favorites so far, although I do have one suggestion for COAST: I would love to see the flickering red lantern operate by itself in this mode. The warm ARC light being illuminated at the same time is quite bright and, in my opinion, takes away from the effect of the flickering "flame." A darker, lantern-only flame mode would make a great ambient camp or patio light. Although most of the exterior construction is plastic, the EAL75R feels solid. Mine hasn't been babied. It has already been knocked around while working in the shop and has handled normal bumps and use without an issue. I also appreciate the IP54 rating because a light intended for the shop, outdoors, and eventually camping is inevitably going to encounter dust and the occasional splash. The ARC light in particular has become an excellent utility light around our property. It has even participated in one rather unusual field test: relocating a rattlesnake. We were able to position the light at a distance and use the directional ARC light to illuminate the area and keep our attention on the snake while it was safely moved away from our home. That's definitely not a use I expected to include in this review. For the record, rattlesnake handling is best left to someone experienced or a professional. We already own a couple of excellent rechargeable COAST headlamps that get used regularly, so I had fairly high expectations going into this test. The EAL75R hasn't disappointed. What I like most about it isn't any one feature; it's how many different jobs one light can handle. Instead of grabbing a flashlight for one task, a lantern for another, and a work light for something else, I've increasingly found myself just grabbing the EAL75R. I still need to get it out camping and really test its runtime in the field, but based on my experience on the farm so far, this one has earned a permanent spot in our lighting kit.

Absolutely loving this light. So many uses. Here are pictures from a pitch black dirt road in the country. This thing is bright!! The voice activation is a real nice touch. Don't have to get out of bed to turn it on or off when camping. Battery lasts a long time and you can charge your phone with it. As well as charge it with any type c cord. Highly recommend

This thing is wild… This is the first light I’ve owned with voice control so I really didn’t know what to expect. Gotta say - it’s really fun. My wife uses the voice feature more than I do but it helps that it’s there if I’m coming and going a bunch and don’t want to waste the battery. Note: The voice control does have a timer. I’m guessing it’s so the battery doesn’t run out as quick. I only noticed because I went to sleep with it activated and woke up and tried to give it a command. Telescoping feature: The main reason this thing is awesome. It makes it a very useful hand held work light. I used this little guy to swap out the rotors on my 4Runner in the evening and it was perfect. It’s very flexible and easy to position. Battery life: Second best thing. While swapping the brakes I had this on for multiple hours and it lost 1x battery bar. Improvements I would ask for: Top light Swivel - The top light swivels up and down. It would also be helpful to twist or rotate left and right. Currently you have to turn the tripod to rotate it. It’s only an issue if it’s set on a particular surface. Color change slider - lots of the Coast lanterns have a small slide switch to change from “warm” to “cool” light color. I realize space is limited on this handy light, but this would make color changing faster and not having to use the voice setting or continuous button presses. Got this light and it's really useful around the shop. It can be activated by voice to turn on and off. The tripod is sturdy and allows the top light to be adjusted to where you want it. I’ve been using the heck out of this light. It’s a great area work light and perfect for camping. It is super bright and being able to adjust the area to get light in the spot you want under a vehicle, oh don’t forget if you need to walk away for a few minutes you can just tell it to turn off to keep from wasting battery. When it’s not in the shop with me working and then it’s outdoors with us camping. It will give plenty of light to light up your whole campsite. The voice control will even work with kids too, that’s a plus. So overall this is a great light for home, camp or work. Can’t wait to see how things go during power outages….. PS there is some commands that are not on the list too. See if you can find them.

I received this light as part of the Coast field tester program. So far I've just been using it around the house and in the garage, I've been using the extendable light as a portable work light and being able to point it in a specific direction is so helpful. (The light can extend higher than it is in the picture). You can also change the temperature of the light and it even has a red light. The extendable light is perfect for using at the table, it illuminates your work surface without glaring in your eyes. I think it will be perfect at the table while camping, and being able to set the temperature to a relaxing warm light will be great for late night card games. Another helpful feature is the voice control which is turned on and off by a dedicated button, there's a variety of commands based on the type of lighting you'd like, I've tested this out a bit and it works quite well. I'll be using the voice control this winter in the ice shack when I'm fishing in low light conditions. I generally like to keep the lights low or off until a fish is on the line, then I turn my headlamp up to see enough to unhook the fish. This will allow me to keep both hands on the rod. It also has a power output next to the charging input which brings me to the only potential downside for me. It comes with a 5,000mAh battery which is adequate if you're just using it for light, but depending on your use case the battery might not have enough capacity to rely on the power output for charging your phone or other devices if you will need to use the light for awhile. You can always buy extra batteries from Coast but I think since it includes a power output if it had a larger battery it would be perfect. Overall the more I use it the more I seem to like it, and it's a nice light that can be used in a lot of different situations and I think that really adds to the value.

This light is a great addition to my inventory of lights, and will take the place of a competitors similar product I've had for a year or so. The well thought out features, the addition of red light (a must have for astonomers!). and the high quality materials and assembly have resulted in a "keeper" that will get a lot of use. Thank you Coast for once again delivering a superb product!
