I like to give anyone who is interested in Sleeping pads for Backpacking and Bicycle Touring. Do not buy the WindCatcher AirPad 2 Sleeping pad 74x20x4 1lbs 14oz $99.95 R-Value 1.5 and it is very different to inflate by the design. And it doesn't even hold any air! And I am using it indoors at my Mom Apt in St Petersburg, FL, and take that $99.95 for a Big Agnes, Nemo, Thermarest Sleeping pads. And I was given to me. And I have read a lot of bad Reviews on Google. and I think that REI need to stop selling this Sleeping pad! and I am gled it was not my $99.95
Took this brand new pad on a 3 night trip to the BWCA and love the concept. The ease of inflation and deflation was the best of any pad I have owned. Unfortunately the pad leaked air throughout the night and ended up sleeping on rocks and roots by morning. Really wanted this pad to hold air as blowing up 4 pads for me and my 3 kids gets me light-headed. REI was fabulous as always with their return policy.
I bought this a while back and was excited to see that rei carries it, so I ordered another one for Father's Day. I find it's easy to inflate once you get the hang of it (I had to watch the video). I've used it on a couple camping trips, but I really like it for beach trips. Easy to inflate (takes me 10 breaths) and rolls up nice. Just be sure to rinse it off.
I have owned the original AirPad 2 for just short of a year, and now the 2+ for a bit. Been great for camping, moving, or just needing something to sit or relax anywhere. I will say that the first few times I inflated the pad I would have overnight deflation issues. However, I quickly found this to be a user error. Wrapping the tongue/windcatcher valve must be done very flat, tight and securely. Once you end up with a good firm wrap that will absolutely hold my 140lbs off any ground all night long. If using for multiple nights, I have found reinflation is needed every few days due to atmospheric loss, especially at the high elevations here in Colorado. This is normal behaviour for any pad I have owned though. The pad is a bit heavier than some of my ultralight pads for backpacking, but the quick and easy inflation is nice especially when you are already winded due to high altitudes. I also do inflate slightly less when using as a seat versus when using as a sleeping pad.
I love my Windcatcher AirPad 2+, it inflates quickly and deflates in seconds. I watched the instructional video and read the instructions. I've used it many times, and I would highly recommend this to avid hiker/backpackers like myself. To those who are new to camping pads I would still recommend it, but know it'll take you longer than the windcatcher guy on shark tank.
Huge disappointment! I saw the pitch on Shark Tank pitch and was totally sold. I was super excited to order and receive it. Blew it up at home, it worked awesome. Saved so much time with inflation. Then I took it out on ONE camping trip. The first night, it wouldn't hold air. No punctures in it at all, it must be leaking from the windcatcher inflation valve. Returning it. Great idea, but apparently they haven't worked out all the R&D yet. I'm so disappointed, I really had high hopes for this.
I have used this sleeping pad recently for 5 nights, camping and backpacking. It is as described, easy to inflate and deflate. Light and small to pack. Comfortable.
I saw this product on Shark Tank a while ago and was blown away. I finally got one a few months ago and have been using it regularly ever since. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I have used it for camping, as a substitute mattress for couch surfers, and even as a pool float. I haven't had any problems inflating it, and it stays inflated all night. I think it's great!
Pretty much in storage for several years. Took it out a couple weeks ago for two nights. Held air great& way more comfortable than I remember. I hope it never dies. Air chair is comfy. I use it as an ottoman foot rest as well.
