[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a bargain. . . warm (R-Value of 7. 4), quiet, comfortable, well made, durable, and relatively light considering it's R Value. I highly recommend this pad for cold nights/conditions. Be sure to maximize its loft for best comfort and warmth. . . the air bag/stuff sack works great to blowing it up. Bravo Sea to Summit!!!
The STS XR Pro is a 5-star pad paired with a 2 star pumpsack. I have been using a Thermarest NeoAir XLite pad since 2017. When I purchased myThermarest, I wanted a warm pad that was wider than 20 inches. In February 2017, a 25" Thermarest NeoAir XLite pad was only available in the Large size with 77 inch length. I am just under 5'6". The Thermarest has been a very reliable and warm pad for me. But every time I roll it out in my tent, I wish it was a foot shorter. Not ready to go to a 20 inch wide pad, I bought a small STS XR Pro last Novermber. Both pads are Mummy shaped. I finally was able to try my new STS XR Pro pad in Indiana last week. Our first night was just below 40 degrees. The ground was likely good and chilled after 2 months of winter weather. I was very comfortable and not at all cold. I do think it is a quieter pad than my Thermarest and I was fine with about 3 inch less width. I loved the length. Now I have room for my pack at the foot of my pad. Even though the STS XR Pro is a smaller pad than my Thermarest, it does weigh almost 2 oz more. For that 2 oz I got an even warmer and quieter pad, although I wasn't bothered by the noise of my TR. I had read the reviews about the pumpsack, and my friend had told me she didn't like it, but I didn't think it could be that bad. I had made a pump sack for my Thermarest using a garbage bag and a garden hose fitting. It worked quite well, so I was used to using a sack to inflate my pad. But the STS pumpsack requires you to blow into it, not just unfurl the bag and fluff it out with your hands. The first, and only time, I used the STS pumpsack prior to taking it out for an overnight, I had the pad on my bed and I was standing to use the pump sack. It wasn't too bad to blow into the sack with your mouth about 5 inches from the opening while standing. But try that in a tent! The length of the pump sack is over 30 inches. I found it very awkward and inefficient to get it extended to puff air into it. After a hard day of hiking, I don't want to blow with enough force to expand a pumpsack. Due to the top part of the pumpsack being attached to the smaller diameter stuff sack portion of the dual purpose bag, I could not simply inflate the pumpsack by opening it up and unfurling with my hands like I can with my garbage bag pumpsack I made for my Thermarest. This morning, I simply cut the STS pumpsack away from the integrated stuff sack. It works very well, with no breathing required to expand the pumpsack with air. I am looking forward to my second trip with the STS pad and using the shortened STS pumpsack with a much wider opening to inflate it without blowing big puffs of air.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the ether light xr pro mat and the ember quilt rated for 30 degrees and i was warm all night. I was in a wall tent (outside temp 30-40 Fahrenheit) It was on a cot and I did have a base layer and non insulated hunting pants and long sleeve shirt, but i left it set up for the whole week and it didn't lose air, and even tho it was cold getting in, I instantly warmed up. I also tried to sleep only in my base layer no socks, and it was perfectly fine. Slept on my side and back different nights. Worked like a charm.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent pad, great warmth to weight ratio, and packs small for its loft. The only issue not making it a 5 star is the stuff sack/blow-up bag. It is very awkward and difficult to use compared to the gold standard (rhymes with noozzle). This inflation bag doesn't inflate easily, and is too small in circumference for the needed amount of air. It takes 5 full bags to inflate the mat as compared to 3 of the "other" bag. I would buy this pad and leave the stuff sack/ inflator bag at home
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sleeping pad is easy and quick to inflate with the integrated pump sack. It only takes about 3 full pumps to full inflate. The valve caps are simple and easy to pop on and the inflate valve is easy to use for adjusting the pad pressure. The stuff sack is big enough to fit the pad back in if you roll it up with the original folds it was packed in. So far the only issue is having enough room to inflate the entire pump sack in a cramped tent.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of the best mattresses I’ve ever purchased. I work outdoors this sleeping pad has allowed me to rest at night after 10 hours days and fits all my expectations. Very comfortable and packs down very well, this pad is warm, very warm. Best purchase I made for my sleep system. Yes I would recommend this sleeping pad.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little skeptical as it is only I think 4" deep but I was surprised how comfortable it was. I'm a side sleeper and I didn't have any hip or shoulder pain upon waking up. Also the carrying bag acts as a pump that has a venturi effect when you blow into it to fill it up which is pretty clever. I would highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sleeping pad gives me the warmth and comfort to be outdoors for the long haul. Having a lighter pad allows me to pack more creature comforts or carry lighter. This Great Invention (Ether Light XR Pro Insulated Air Sleeping Pad) has improved my quality of life while traveling and I am extremely grateful .
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pad is incredible. Half the reason I bought it was for the inflating system. It seemed like witchcraft and I wanted to see it work myself. It works perfect. Takes on average 3. 5 breaths is all to fill this bad boy up. Love it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently purchased the sea to summit sleeping mat and used it on a backpacking trip. It is amazingly comfortable, lightweight and compact. Delightfully transformational as a replacement to my previous backpacking mat
