Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, form-fitting, light-weight I've only worn this shirt a couple of times, but I have been very impressed. The first time I wore it snowshoeing in 0 degree weather. I usually get pretty hot once I've started moving, so I didn't want anything too heavy. I had this on over a tank top with my winter coat, and it was perfect. I never felt too hot or too cold, but I could tell that it was keeping my body heat in. It's warmer than what you would expect for something of it's thickness. They also did a nice job with fabric darts on the sides (you can't really see it in this picture...looks almost like it was photoshopped out) that's very becoming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these tops!! I have 5 of these tops in different colors and styles. I wear them for work and for play. I initially bought them in a size too big because they fit snug when you first put them on, which made me think I needed the larger size. However, once I had them on for a short while, the fit relaxed a bit, making the larger size too large. This is the only downside to these tops, but I didn't think it was important enough to reduce my rating from 5 stars to 4. Outside of that small issue, these are the most practical and versatile tops I've ever owned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from doesn't fit as well as last year's model I have this top in last year's and the previous year's colors and LOVE them. Both older tops fit much better than the new one though. This year the sleeves and torso are much longer (my arms haven't grown), but the shoulders are tight in the armpits. The new fit is best for women who don't have shoulder muscles. If you have muscles, look for a used top from last year. I love most of my Smartwool clothing and will keep this top, unless the armpit digging drives me too crazy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty darn great I really like this pull-over and can wear it to do almost anything. I bought the black one and it's in a size small. I'm approximately 5'11" and 140 pounds and the Small fit me perfectly. I usually wear larger sizes in other clothing but Smart Wool tops seem to run bigger than other brands. I like wearing this either under a down jacket or just wear it over a tank top depending on the weather. I haven't soaked this product in water yet to see if it dries quickly so I'm not sure about this particular feature yet. It's not super "breathable" but I think it's perfect for the way I use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love love love! Very well made. I have 2 of these for a few years now, a solid deep blue and a purple stripe. They are so warm and versatile. I'm a size 16, 5'8" tall, with a long torso and these are just long enough for me. I wear them hiking, walking the dogs, traveling and as casual wear. They layer nicely, on really cold days I wear them with a smartwool tank or long sleeve silk base layer underneath. I wash them inside out on gentle using woolite only and hang dry. So far, no pilling, holes or tearing. They still look new! I like that they are 100% wool. Can wear for days without any smell. Am lusting after the charcoal grey....Wish they would offer this in white/natural.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love Smartwool clothes! I've had this top and bottoms for a good long time - 5 yrs or so. Expensive, but worth the price due to quality and durability. Keeps you super warm, but also breaths well and wicks the moisture. I wear this underneath when I'm snowboarding, and it's great at keeping me warm and wicking away sweat! I also wear this at high altitudes when I need the extra layer for warmth. It's starting to get some holes, and I'm sad I have to get another top and bottom, because of the steep price, but I just think, another pair will last me just as long. Love this brand!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite shirt. This is my favorite wool shirt and i have stacks of wool shirts. Atleast 20! This is the softest fabric, no itch, and wears incredibly well and washes so easily. I own a sled dog kennel so i wear clothes hard and often. This shirt i can wear more than 1 day without odor and when i wash it I accidentally threw in a low heat dryer. It did not shrink at all. I know own 4 of these shirts, bought my daughter 2 others. For both of us, they are the first shirts we pull off the clean pile. I own quite a few ibex and icebreaker but this beats those Hands Down!!! FYI I am 5'4 120 lbs, athletic build and i like the medium. I usually wear a size 4.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Durable and Warm SmartWool brand is a little on the pricey side, but it wears great (spread out the cost over a number of years of wear), and is really comfortable. I have used SmartWool both in daily use (it's part of my go-to layering routine for varying cold weather temps in TX), and camping (great and lightweight/packable on hiking trips). The midweight gets itchy/uncomfortable to wear without an under-layer in temps above 40 degrees (but this is common for all wool materials with me). I love the zip-top option, because I don't always like something around my neck, but it offers a little extra protection when needed. The zipper and zipper pull are also of good quality and not too bulky.

Questions & Answers

Is this a quick-dry fabric?  Does it dry as quickly as capalene? I had a friend who got her Smartwool wet in the rain, and it didn't dry for 3 days. Has anyone else had this experience, or have they dried quickly from rain or sweat?

Asked by: Lunatickle
The NTS 250 is 100% merino wool which is moisture wicking, but will not be as quick drying as capilene.

What is the difference between this and the NTS 250 top?

Asked by: Amuz
The only difference between the Midweight Long-Sleeve Zip-T Top and the NTS 250 top is the zipper. Both are made with a midweight merino wool.
