I’ve worn this as my base layer multiple times while doing 8 miles day hiking in 20* to 50* & variable winds while hiking in & above alpine. The shirt performed well, wicked moisture, no odor, and helped keep me warm. Anyone serious about hiking would benefit from this shirt, beginner or an expert. Highly recommend following the sizing guide, but for slightly snugger fit, size down, the material will stretch.
Be aware this is not 100% merino. It's only 53% merino and the rest polyester. I own a 100% merino crew I bought previously from OR and I really like it. I assumed this would be the same. This one is very thin and I don't like the feel. It might be just as warm, but I will probably return.
I've had this shirt for a few months. I absolutely love it for skiing, cycling, yoga, and going out. It's light weight and attractive. Perfect for under a vest.
