These pants are super comfortable and the pockets are amazing. So many times the pockets in women pants are terrible and uncomfortable, but these pants have deep pockets and even a smaller pocket inside the front pocket, which I love for a key or ID, they feel extra secure. I am coming back from wearing maternity clothes and these pants are easing me back into normal clothes again, the elastic waist band makes them comfortable but not the most flattering, which is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I have been wearing theses on hikes and walks with the family because they have zero restrictions and they make running after the kids a breeze. Great pair of hiking pants!!
These pants have become my go to for so many things! I love them for hiking, running errands on crummy days, yard work... The material is swooshy, I dont mind the sound (some people might). The back pocket is decently deep so pretty functional. The front pockets are very deep which is wonderful, and one of the front pockets has a mini pocket! At first I wasnt sure about the seam at the knee but I don't find it bothersome at all. Some stretch in the fabric so mobilty is great. Minor complaints- While the waistband is extremely comfortable, it make my bellybutton sweaty. I really wish the pants were either capri or full length, I really don't think I rock a crop well.
The pants are comfortable, they are not necessarily flattering. They are stretchy which is really nice to be able to move in all directions freely when hiking, packing the car and doing things throughout the day. The front crotch area balloons which is really annoying. These are heavier weighted pants, they are thick. I did like the length of the pant, I'm shorter so they were at my ankles rather than above the ankle. I wouldn't say the pant is worth the price unless it was on sale or you like the comfort of them.
I have been wearing the Rec Trek pants for a few weeks now and have been thoroughly impressed. My first wear was into the flatirons of the front range in the Rockies and we were caught in a quick rain downpour but the Rec Trek pants kept me dry and the water just rolled off. They held up super well as our hike became more technical climbing and I was impressed with their flexibility. More recently I volunteered at a nature conservancy in Oahu and got really down and dirty, but the pants continued to hold up super well and even resisted the intense red dirt that stained many other pieces of our gear. My main issue with the pants is entirely in the waistline and the fit for me personally. I’ve found that when pants fit me in the thighs and calves, they don’t typically fit my waistline, and while these are definitely the closest I’ve ever found, I still find myself adjusting the waist. The drawstring internally does help but I find that the knot on my abdomen can get irritating. All together these are the nearly perfect trail pants that I’ll definitely keep wearing!
The fabric on these pants are not too thick and not too thin. It's a nice moisture wicking material, but I'm not sure how hot these will get in the middle of summer. It's definitely a good thickness for fall and spring outdoor activities. It seems like the material would hold up to some abrasion from rock climbing or intense hiking; the fabric is like those of tech pants. Zippered front pockets are an added bonus. Hiking in these was very comfortable as there is some stretch to the fabric and a lot of give in the waistband to wear at the mid or low rise. I would say these seem to fit on the larger side, but it's probably not enough for me to recommend sizing down. However, the fit on my stature does not look as fitted as it does on the model. I do prefer my active pants on the looser side, so I found these to be a really great comfortable fit. Super easy to pull up or down. There is also a drawstring at the waistband if you need it. Length-wise, they are more of a 7/8 length, so if you're short like me, they'll be like full length pants. For regular height or tall people, you may find it a little on the shorter side. These are nice enough to wear casually too if you're looking for something slightly more refined than sweatpants.
I wore these pants on long hikes (10+ miles), short hikes (3-5 miles), and as lounge pants after a run. I really like how comfortable these pants are. I am about 5'4" and 145 lbs. and got a medium. They are extremely roomy, which also makes them flexible to climb over rocks, logs, etc. on the trail. The elastic waistband is also super comfortable, but I didn't see a purpose for the drawstring to be coupled with the elastic waistband. I also liked the length of the pants. From the stock photo, I think they were supposed to be 7/8 length, but I am so short that they were full length (which I liked). The storage capabilities on these pants are also great. I like that the pockets were deep and also zipped so that you didn't lose anything out of them (I could fit my phone, wallet, and keys in them). I also liked the depth of the back pocket. I often put my phone in it for quick photo access and it never fell out. On the negative side, these pants were really thick and hot for Summer use and they weren't the most moisture wicking. However, I'm sure the thickness would be good for other seasons. I also didn't love the fit/style. These pants were not flattering on me and made me look frumpy and apple-shaped. I would have liked the legs on the medium pants to have been a bit smaller and more fitted and the midsection a bit more structured.
So far I am a big fan of these!! I work them for a long road trip, and for some short hikes, and they were perfect! Love the pockets and how deep they are, and I loved that they are mid rise (and don't ride up while hiking or driving). Overall super comfy and flattering pants for a range of activities. I'd say they run true to size but maybe a bit big. I'm a size 6-8 and got a medium. They fit great but definitely have some room in the waist.
Don’t love them, don’t hate them. They’re pretty comfortable, material is both structured and easy to move around in. They fit true to size maybe a little on the larger side (i can fit into my normal size at 6 months pregnant). I don’t like the seam on the leg (see picture) and the waistband could me more comfortable. Overall, decent pants and true to description.
I have been eyeing these pants for a while and they do not disappoint! The material is thick and seems very sturdy. I don’t think I’ll have to worry about them snagging while I’m out adventuring. The pants aren’t cropped on me, but I actually prefer this because most pants are too long on me. I’m 5’2” and these hit right at my ankles. I love that the two front pockets have zippers! They’re sizable pockets too, which is nice. The back pocket could be larger and doesn’t have a zipper though. There is a drawstring, which I’m very happy for as someone with bigger hips and a smaller waist. I do wish the rise was a litttttle higher, but it’s fine as-is. Honestly one of my favorite things about these pants is how they look like nice pants but are totally functional in the outdoors as well. Overall, I’m stoked with these and can’t wait for more adventures in them!
I have an athletic build with pretty thick thighs/calves and narrow hips. I have spent my life looking for hiking pants that can comfortably accommodate my thighs and booty without having a waist gap and let me tell you this is IT! I have tried so many other brands and some are okay but still stick skin tight to my thighs and makes it hard to move around, but these leave ROOM for my thighs without being billowy or like parachutes on my legs. There’s plenty of stretch and breathability to hike, sit on a plane, and I can even get away wearing it to my office job. Truly such versatile pants, highly recommend for anyone who’s had trouble looking for thigh accommodating hiking bottoms. The elastic waistband with a drawstring has also been extremely comfortable and useful!
