High hopes quickly dashed

When I received these I giggled with excitement for a lightweight, comfy and quick dry pant for travel and light trails. But what a disappointment after a month and a few washes. This fabric is pilling and snagging both inside and out. My pics are from low stress areas like behind the knees and sides. The butt area is a disaster and this isn't even from sitting on rocks. 6 weeks and they will never travel anywhere farther than a dog walk. So disappointed in North Face and I'm circling back to my trusted Kuhl.

Need these in every color

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always had a hard time finding pants that fit me (having a tall athletic build with narrow waist and hips and muscular legs) but THESE... these are the ones. They fit perfectly around my waist and have plenty of stretch for my legs. and the length is perfect too. I have long legs so that's a big deal. The range of motion I have in these makes me feel unstoppable and they are so flattering (my booty has never looked better) For reference: I'm 5'10" 138 lb. 26 in waist, 35 in hips, ordered a size small regular.

These are my favorite pants. Ever!

These are my new favorite pants ever. I've hiked in these pants (warm and cold weather) and lounged in them, even gone for a run! I wear them to relax (they're as comfy as sweatpants) and I can dress them up with a blouse to look nice. The pockets are big enough for my phone (yay!) and the elastic waist is perfect so they don't fall down. The fabric is so soft, comfy and breathable. The only thing I don't like is that they tend to stretch quite a bit with wear and then look too baggy. Also, I've noticed some pilling but only inside the pockets so far (2-3 months.) I am usually a size large but they were way too big for me so I got a medium. My mom also got the pants and sized down from her normal size. I recommend these pants to everyone I know so if you're thinking about buying them DO IT!

Mostly Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought these for cool weather hiking. Like others have said, they are lightweight, which is what I wanted, so I think I'd be cold in them in COLD weather. But I hate thick, heavy pants, and I don't hike in very cold weather often. These are stretchy and loose enough to be comfy but not so much that they look frumpy. I'm 105lbs and I bought the XS. They fit about like the model - except that I am 5'2 and I had to cut about 6 inches off of the regular length (found them at a sporting goods store and they didn't have the "short" length). Pictures attached from before and after shortening them. Also, I bought the same pants in the same size a few months ago and they were much too big, returned those. I don't think I've gained weight, so like another reviewer mentioned, I think the sizing may be inconsistent. Happy I found a pair that fits.

Loved them but they easily pilled

I was in love with these pants and thought I had found my new favorite outdoor pants. I wore them in Alaska and they were perfect; lightweight and fast drying but still kept me warm on the chillier days. Plus they didn't take up much space or weight in the luggage. But after wearing them a lot over two weeks they got pretty badly pilled. I'm do sad because I loved them but they already look old and worn out.

Nice pant but needs some changes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the look and feel of these pants. They're lightweight and very soft. However they wrinkle like crazy no matter how quickly you get them out of the dryer and you're not supposed to use an iron which I didn't realize until it was too late and I burned a small hole in them before I even had a chance to wear them. Fortunately you can't really tell because of where the hole is and because of the "crinkly" look so I still wear them. I also hate that I have no place to put my phone when wearing them at work because there's no back pocket or leg pocket and it's too awkward to put my phone in my front pocket- plus it doesn't really fit anyway.

This is my second pair of these pants

Love these pants. I was looking for lightweight summer pants, that I can just pull on and go. I walk a lot in the prairie with my dogs, and these are perfect to cover from the sun, but so lightweight, I forget I have them on! I go from my walks with an athletic top, to running through the rest of my day, and just miss them when they go into the laundry. I love the graphic grey, goes with all the summer colors and shoes - sandals, flip flops, and lightweight hiking shoes. Pockets are deep enough for my cell phone and it's weight does not pull my pants down! The waist band is strong, yet easily slips over my hips when pulling on and off.

Buy These in Every Color ASAP

I bought a pair of these in the store and fell in love. I have finally found a comfortable elastic, draw string pants to wear for any occasion. I bought them for my summer hikes this season. As soon as I put these pants on I didn't want to take them off. They are very comfortable and soft. I wore them to work (i'm a medical assistant) and the will now be my go to pant instead of scrubs. I plan to purchase one of each color. I also felt like i hit the jackpot when I found out they come in capri's. I purchased the capri's in the same size for additional summer wear. I have also worn the capris and these pants to my yoga/pilates classes!

TNF Totally ruined the cut

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pants used to be perfect. The Aphrodite 1.0 that I bought in 2016 had the best cut!! I loved the little snap pocket down the leg too. Between the long pant and the capris, I have nearly 20 pair of Aphrodite. I just bought the dark green and the cut is horrible. Why would the change the pattern when there's so many rave reviews?? If it ain't broke.... I will be returning the latest pair and I will be looking for a different brand to buy. I'm so sad right now. These were my favorite pants to wear in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. I would wear them hiking, kayaking, to a concert, and even dress them up a bit. Farewell Aphrodite.

NOT FOR HIKING

I ride a bike to work and hike every weekend. Was looking to get a pair of pants that would work well for both that are lightweight for summer. I wore these pants 2-3 times hiking so far (not in dense brush etc) and found that they are VERY PRONE to catching. The pocket where my shoulder pack sat over is also showing pilling after the one time I used the pack. I haven't worn them biking yet, but I don't expect them to hold up. They are very comfortable and breathe really well, but at the price I expect more from the North Face brand. They are great for casual wear but not recreational. Because of this the cost should be much less to make them a good buy.
