Was very excited to try these pants. Unfortunately, I’m not sure I will keep them. The fabric is great - sturdy yet soft and comfortable. I love how the pants fit…except the bottom of the legs. They are really long and wide. I am only 5’4” so most women may not find them long. The combination of wide and long makes them look odd on me. The pictures make the pants legs look fairly straight. I thought they would be similar to the Freeflex Dash pants. I will try to add a picture comparing my Freeflex Dash pants to the Haven pants.
These pants are very comfortable; relaxed fit and the material is soft but feels durable. The sizing does run slightly large. Per the size chart, I needed a medium and that's what I bought but it does fit looser than a medium normally would on me. It's a bit big in the waist but I have a small waist and larger hips so that is typically an issue for me. I agree with the other reviews that the length is long. It actually fits me perfectly but I am 5'8 with long legs so most women are going to have an issue with the length. My only minor complaint is that while I appreciate that the side pockets have zippers, they feel a bit stiff and that just feels a bit odd on my hips.
Large in waist and too long. Nice otherwise. I’m 5’4”, 120 pounds. The small was too big in the waist and about 2-3 inches too long. I wish they had different lengths. The brown was darker in real life than on iPhone pics. Prana seems to fit me better. I am small framed but curvy with proportions. Thinner waist with rounder bum.
Pros: front pockets are zippered and I can fit my iPhone fully in them. I’m usually a size 12, and large fits well; can adjust with drawstring tie in elastic waist. Back of pants come up high enough that my backpack doesn’t rub my skin. Cons: length is too long and catches on the bottom of my hiking boot (I’m usually a 31” inseam). The elastic strap band is weird and can help to pull the hem up, but then I just kick the pooled material with each step on my hike. You can flip it up a bit an cuff it, but the insides of the cuff fall down, cuff area catches dirt, and you still end up kicking it with each step. Poor bottom design for the cost. If you don’t mind hemming the pants, these could be a good choice, but beware the cost doesn’t reflect what you’re getting.
I really loved these pants. They felt great, fit well but were about 2 inches too long even when I cinched the drawstring. I’m 5’4”. I reluctantly returned them because I would have had to have them shortened and they were already so expensive.
I have several pairs of Kuhl pants for my go to hiking wear and added these, mostly due to liking the color. Great fit overall and quality as with my other pairs. The only drawback for me as a 5’4” person is the length. These pants are longer than my other pairs, surprisingly. I can tighten the elastic drawcord in the hem of each leg to ensure I don’t trip but it was just unexpected. Nonetheless, I’m excited to try them out hiking and know they’ll be another favorite in my closet.
I have always appreciated the quality and fit of Kuhl products. The Haven pants are no exception. The weight of the fabric is perfect for travel, the fit and appearance perfect for hanging out with friends and an evening out.
I wanted to love these pants, but they are way too long. Also the waist is too tight. Otherwise the style is great and I like the elastic waist. I will be returning these.
A Kuhl pair of pants, size 10, fits perfectly. So I bought a size large. It is too big. And I'm afraid the size medium will be too small. I'm too far away from REI to shop in person, and I'm too cheap/lazy to return. ARGH!
Comfortable and adjustable. Moves with you and is not ristrictive.
