Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Yes , I recommend this product
I haven't yet tried these pants on the trail or traveling but feel positive that they will work well. I love the barrel style, which is a nice change up from other hiking pants. They also fit my legs better than narrower pant legs. The medium is a good fit for 145 lb; 5'7", neither too big or too tight. I could almost go with a small, but I prefer hiking pants on the looser side for ease of movement. Love the crimini color as another nice change from my usual black pants.

These pants fit me SO WELL! I’m a petite person (5 ft 1 in, 115#) with a small waist, a long torso, and average hips (but my hips sit very low). These have a super high rise, which means they sit at my natural waist. But they drape well so it doesn’t look like I’m wearing a tent. The belt is very comfy and helpful (I wear it fairly tight because my natural waist is small). As a short person with short legs, the XS petite is perfect for me and hits right above the ankle which is very flattering. If any of my proportions sound similar to yours, would definitely try these. I wish they had black or other cool colors- sadly am not an earth tones girlie. I will be buying a second pair of the blue ones!

Like the silhouette, wish a lil better quality
If I could rate them a 3.5, that's really the rating I'd like to give. While I like the fit and barrel leg construction, the material itself is very thin and has stayed wrinkled even after hanging it up for a few days, which doesn't bode well for travel purposes. The REI cardboard paper thing on the waist was sewn in left a little damage when removing the threads. I've already had a little trouble with releasing the included belt buckle - I have to press it hard to release. For such a costly pant, I would hope that REI would offer comparable quality. I'll still be wearing them (especially in summer), but just wanted to give a heads-up re: quality and expense.

Overall, I really like the look and fit of these pants. Like another person said, the tag that is stitched to the waistband leaves holes when removed. Seems unnecessary to attach it like that as it forces you to damage the pants to remove. I wish the material on the inside of the waistband was softer. I am 5'4 135lb athletic build and the small petite fits great! Make these in black please!

perfect for day trips

Loving these. I’m a size 6 and the small fits with plenty of room to fell comfy in. Used them for a summer trip to Peru and they were perfect for day trips with lots of sitting in cars and hiking. They are ankle length on me.

Shipping service was great--the product is what I call "mall shopping" pants--too lightweight and it doesn't stand up to real trail conditions--I won't buy again or recommend as trail pants.

I do love the fit and style of the pants, but boy are they short! I am 5’7” and ordered L Tall from what the model reflected and they hit above the ankle. Just something to be prepared for.
