This top is great. I wore it for a few early season ski days in New England. Anyone who skis here knows the weather can be all over the place. When it was 38 degrees, I wore the top with just my coat over it and when it was 15 degrees, I added another fleece layer. Each time, the top kept me warm, comfortable, and dry. The zip is key for this, it allows for ventilation while keeping my coat zipped against the wind. The fabric is super soft- Compared to other merino baselayers, this one feels softer next to skin. The color and pattern is also very flattering. I usually don't go for a lot of color in my ski gear but this coordinates really well with my normal black, navy, gray :) And the thumb loops are key for keeping the sleeves in place!! Overall I love wearing this top, and the quality is great so I hope to use it for years to come.
The Wild Rye Hailey's Half-Zip is one of my new favorite shirts! The first thing I noticed was how soft the material is and makes the shirt feel so comfortable. I sweat very easily, and this shirt not only keeps me warm but is also breathable and didn't feel soaked in sweat after running in it. I also like how there are thumbholes for those who don't like wearing gloves but want your hands to stay somewhat warmer. It's a more formfitting shirt since it's supposed to be a base layer top so if you like your shirts looser, I would size up. As an added bonus, the shirt comes in fun colors and patterns. I looked more into the brand and appreciated how Wild Rye is committed to environmental accountability and try to use recycled materials. Overall, you can't go wrong with this shirt!
The half-zip is a go to for a lightweight outdoor base layer. The color I have is lily plum, which is a flattering maroon and fun design. I typically wear a size small/medium for tops and the size 8 fit perfectly. I am more petite so the arms were a little long, which doesn't create any issues. Have used this for outdoor runs and the material is breathable and soft. Plan to use as base layer for snowboarding. The length of the top was long, which is preferred.
Made of 100% merino wool, this layer reduces the bulkier options of mid-layers without compromising the warmth! True to size, this will be a versatile piece in your closet for many activities. The 1/2 zip contemporary shape and 230g weight allows for optimal layering options for many activities… Though a synthetic vest and a light puffy was plenty warm for a hike and skate up top 10000ft mountains! Did I mention the moisture wicking keeps from the swampy feel of many other comparable layers. This staple will be worth your investment!
As soon as I opened it i was in love and i have been wearing it several times a week since. Such a pretty plum color and fun pattern. It was slightly itchy fresh from the package but after one wash that went away and it is now very soft i wear it with just a sports bra underneath. I wear it cross country skiing in 15 degree weather with just a vest and base layer underneath, I also wore it for three 12+ hour plane travel days and i wear it to work. holds upwell and doesn't collect a smell right away I like that i can wear it to work and then not have to change to go for my ski. it does run a little smaller then i thought I am normally a medium and got a size 10. it fit well but it is hard to layer something underneath so I could probably go up a size. I am also 6'1" and typically I cannot use the thumb holes but I can comfortably with the half zip which is a huge win. I am planning on getting on of these in the blue color soon.
I love the Hailey half-zip from Wild Rye! I've used the Evie Raglan before but I run warm in high output situations. I love the half zip which lets me vent when I am moving uphill, but then I can zip up a cozy high neck for the descent. I am about 125 lbs, 5'5", athletic build and typically a small for tops in other brands. I wear a size 6 in this and it fits perfect. The merino wool is soft and not itchy, and the pattern is beautiful.
I loved the color and design of this sweater, but the arms of size M were 6 inches too long. I bought a size S in a different color which didn't allow room for layering underneath. I couldn't use the thumbholes on the size M if I rolled them up, so I returned the sweater. I'm 5'4" with normal arm length.
