Many features and fits small wrists!
My old garmin forerunner finally bit the dust and I had to upgrade. I have a very narrow wrist, even for a woman, and while this watch isn't small, it fits fine. I've had it for several weeks and used it swimming, runninng, biking and hiking. So far it has been very easy to set up and use (other than not being able to set up the Garmin Connect store with any of the credit cards I use, but I didn't need to purchase any apps anyway, so that has been OK). I didn't spring for the solar version, because I am not an ultrarunner (and the gift cards only went so far...). However, the battery life has been 9-10 days, and since I usually just charge every week that's fine. It's great that all the maps for your region (all of North America in my case) can be loaded onto the watch for free, and the ability to send up emergency contacts and alerts in addition to a garmin connect link for safety makes my familly happy and me feel safer. The logging of many kinds of workouts has been great and it connected easily to all my devices. This was an excellent purchase and I was able to use REI gift cards, so that was awesome, too. There are more fitness and health monitoring metrics than on previous watches. This watch can have touch screen or not (I set it off most of the time so I don't inadvertently do something). It also could play music, but I don't have it set up to do that. I would recommend this watch to any multi-sport athlete or recreational person with a small wrist who gets a bit obsessive about tracking activities and health metrics or who wants to have a way to allow family or others to track you/have an emergency alert set up (you have to set this up, it won't broadcast your workout if you don't want it to). It also can navigate you back if you are lost.

Two seperate devices failed within 18 months.
Great product when it works. However, the garmin warranty is only one year. Within the first 6 months of owning I encountered a software issue (stuck in restart cycle) that required replacement of the whole unit. Garmin was great, got me a new one. However, 12 months later the Stop/Start button has stopped functioning, and within days the same software bug is happening again. I'm only 6 months out of warranty. I've had other (cheaper!) Garmin watches function flawlessly for much, much longer. This watch wasn't subjected to unreasonable or harsh conditions, or used for any purpose outside of what it is advertised to do. It's just a dud model in desperate need of both hardware and software fixes in order to live up to its 650$ price tag.

Best Fitness Watch

This is my second Garmin Fenix... I wear it 24/7. I owned a Fenix 5S the last five years and the Fenix 7S is the upgrade I was waiting for. The new sensor, touch screen and Garmin’s outstanding performance… I am absolutely in love with my new watch.

Versatile Health Tracker

Energy efficient and packed with features, this watch pairs well with my Pixel phone along with my Garmin Edge. I have small wrists (150mm), and this Fenix 7S (42mm) fit me perfectly! I initially tried a Fenix 7 (47mm) but it was way too large and nearly overhanged the width of my wrist. The latest firmware added the Morning Report which I enjoy browsing through when I wake up, as it summarizes not only my latest slumber, but my training readiness and weather for the day ahead. If I could suggest one feature, it would be cellular connectivity for phone calls and texts. The moment this transpires, I would no longer need my Apple Watch with LTE any more!

Awesome watch easy to navigate

Got this watch for Christmas and I love it. Had been wearing the Apple Watch for sometime and was looking for something different. My Apple Watch is a joke compared to the the Garmin. Has great features and is easy to navigate. Battery life is amazing been wearing mine for 2 weeks before having to charge again.

Lots of features- lets you pace learning them

Printed product manual is minimal, but the app tells me to set up features one by one gradually and at a manageable learning pace. As a beginner, I am really enjoying the built in running coach.

Very good device.

I’ve owned quite a few GPS devices but this is my first GPS watch, and I like it much more than I expected. Is a good size for my wrist and the battery life is impressive. The menus are not very intuitive, but generally I’m finding them OK to navigate with a bit of practice. The features are great; heart rate, elevation, speed, distance and tracking are the main ones I use and they all seem fairly accurate. There are lots of other statistics that I don’t use at all. I bought this rather than a Forerunner largely because of the mapping, and because an REI sale brought the price down to about the same level; in practice the mapping has limited value because the watch face is fairly small so you can only see a small area on the screen.

Women need premium sports watches too!

I've had the Fenix 5s and the Vivoactive Music 3 and now I am happy to have the Fenix 7s. The main reason I bought the Fenix is battery life. I run 18 mile trail races while listening to music so I wanted a watch that could get all my data, provide music, and have some life afterwards. I mountain bike a lot and my frustration is with the thickness and weight of the watch. On the descent the watch bounces and pushes into my wrist and hand, sometimes pushing the start/stop button without my knowledge. I did rotate my brake levers and that helped but the watch still moves as I go over rocks, tree roots, etc. I hope in the future Garmin is able to decrease the weight of the watch so it will stay put better on a small wrist. I really hope Garmin will keep in mind that many of its users have small wrists.

Worth the money!

I’ve used a vivoactive for years and liked it. I’ve started doing more trails and needed a solid GPS function and battery life and this has been phenomenal. The price tag initially hurt but considering I used my vivoactive for hundreds of miles and daily use, I would say that I got maximum utility out of the product. Considering I plan on wearing this watch everyday and using it for long distance runs as well as health tracking everyday for the next several years I believe the value exceeds the initial price tag. It may be inexpensive for some but I try to be as shrewd as possible spending money on myself and what in my head was a luxury item. The watch has now become a necessity.
