I have 3 versions of this pant and the top (blue, green and orange) and I used to wear them exclusively/extensively in fall/winter only as an under layer with my 3/4 shorts. Within 5 months of use, every one of them ripled in the crotch/butt area. I always wear socks prior to outting these on, so they didn't begin ripping because of toe nails or something like that. I photographed the orange pant when its fibers just began ripping like strings being pulled in socks/stockings. Within a couple of times wearing & washing the pant after that, it had a gaping hole. Very disappointing quality for the cost and they were my favorite base layers for skiing!
these have become my go-to for skiing.... the boot-cut works perfectly with ski socks and eliminates bunching in the ski boot. the fabric is soft, warm and stretchy. the wasitband lies flat and fits well when wearing a pack.
I really like these!! The material feels really good against your skin. They're warm but lightweight. The material could be a little more stretchy. Overall they're a great product!! I'm 6 foot tall, 220 lbs with a 36 inch waist and I ordered a size XL. The fit is slighly loose.
Love these pants that end just below the knee - no more bunching up long pants above my boot and feeling compressed all day. The merino is also by far the softest baselayer I've ever worn.
other than the pants being above my ankles, it does keep my legs very warm. The merino wool socks that I bought can be pulled up high enough so that it overlaps with the bottom of the pants.
Warm pair of leggings my husband bought. We went in to get the REI wool long pants but they were out so we had to buy these instead.
