Smartwool  Classic All-Season Merino 3/4 Base Layer Bottoms - Men's

Perfect for skiing. Have used these in very cold temps as well as cooler spring temps and they regulate my body temp very well. The 3/4 length is the best for use with ski boots, as they sit perfectly above the cuff of the boot.

Loved these long underwear bottoms, great fit and good breathability. Unfortunately like all new Smart Wool products they wore through within a year. These were always washed on delicate and low heat and always line dried. It's disappointing how downhill the durability and quality has gone. I still have old Smart Wool that is in better shape from 10-15 years ago.

I'm a big fan of most things Smartwool. This piece is decent, but could use some improvements; primarily in the form of a wider waistband that doesn't roll, and cuffs that do not stretch out. The latter being a problem with most 3/4 length tights regardless of material or brand. 3/4 length tights are an absolute must for skiing and snowboarding because you should never, ever put anything in a ski or snowboard boot but socks. Having waistbands and cuffs that retain their shape and stay in place are critical for comfort, especially in skiing.

I bought a top and bottom for my brother-in-law. He spent a few years in the Navy protecting our country and then 30 years at Point Magoo in Southern California testing missiles and working to Identify those of other countries. He is now retired and was complaining of the cool days when he could not ride down the Pacific Coast Highway on his Harley. Well, he has a 28 inseam and that wasn't available, so I chose the 3/4 length. He absolutely loves them. He is now Comfy, Cosey and Warm on that vibrating machine of his.

I love the length cause they don’t bunch up with your socks in your boots. Good waist band. Unfortunately I have a dime sized a hole about 2” below the tag in the back after about 8-10 wears. I called REI, was told I was going to need to take them there(we have a store close by) and have an employee determine if the hole warrants a return. I paid $52 for them. I’m going to save the gas and fix the hole in house. They are $85 regularly . For the price I’d just roll the dice on 2 pair of cheaper ones.

I have been putting off purchasing new base layers for a while now, but my old pair finally bit the dust and i was excited to go with the 3/4 length vs the roll-up method i used to use. I was hesitant as i only need the 3/4 about 50% of the time as i wear long johns outside of ski boots almost as much - i thought the capri length would be weird, but i dont notice it. These are everything i had hoped for. comfortable fit. goldilocks weight (for me). Overall - very happy with my purchase.

Great Base layer that doesn't have to go in your Ski/Snowboard boots. Great in that it prevents any clumping /pain in your boots. It would be the perfect base layer for winter sports if had some material that would prevent it from stretching out. It goes back to original size once washed, but stretches out after a day of wear. Regardless, if your a Skier or Snowboarder, you this in your base layer quiver! Love it!

I use these primarily for skiing. Let's face it, getting high ski socks on over full-length base layer bottoms can be difficult and even when you get it right, there is still the bottom seam around your ankle which can get noticeable when you tighten your boots. PROBLEM SOLVED with the 3/4 length! Socks go on much easier and better fit in boot. Should have changed to these years ago.

Purchased these to replace a similar Smartwool base layer I've had for a decade that are finally starting to wear out. Thought I'd try the 3/4 length this time since I primarily use these for skiing and wanted something shorter that doesn't interfere with my ski boots. Liked my old Smartwool base layer so much, I'm sticking with something that I know works and lasts a long time!

These are perfect for wearing under ski pants on a bluebird day. The shorter length means you don't have to worry about any bunched material under or over your ski socks, and the lighter material means you won't sweat in the winter sun. My only qualm is that the leg openings don't have much of a hem and get loose and misshapen, instead of hugging the leg nicely.
