solid light
Gotten a few ledlenser products and they've all been real nice quality. Really like this lamp because you can set it to the exact brightness you want on your phone, unlike the other model I have where you have to guess what level its at. Got mine on sale and used my rebate, not sure if I'd pay 140$ for it (over 150$ after tax). Ledlenser just upped their prices on everything by about 15-20%. Going to be great for hiking
Great light
I thought that this light was going to have more features than I would use. But with the wrist remote and the app from your smart phone making it easy, I find I use those features far more than I thought I would. And as with all of my Ledlenser lights the construction and engineering quality are very solid and it doesn't feel cheap. It's easy to see how Ledlenser can warranty their products like they do. Feature packed and we'll built. I will buy at least one more in the near future.
Didn't make sense for (car) camping, too pricey
TL;DR: I recently purchased this lamp and used it on a one-week (car, tent) camping trip to Shenandoah National Park, VA. I could not justify its price x performance and I returned it to REI. Pros: Solid construction, good amount of (white) light emitted, the magnets on the bottom are nice to plug it on the side of your car while you are fetching things, or a metal picnic table so the wind won't carry it. Cons: - Proprietary charging cable, they sell it as a plus but it is actually a minus, because of this you need to take one more charging cable camping, and if you lose it you are so out of luck. - The red light is weak, so weak it is pretty much unusable. My black diamond headlamp has a much stronger red light and 1/10th the size of this thing. - The battery is too small (3.000mAH), on max power setting (white light) it lasts only 5 hours, on lower power settings it does not illuminate as well. - The user controls on the lamp are clunky, hard to operate and does not give you all the power options the phone app does. - Who wants to have to use an app to turn on/set-up a lamp? You have to unlock your phone, open an app, connect it, then select the amount of light you want. Too cumbersome. - The remote control it comes with was pretty much useless, could not figure out a reason to use it, maybe if you buy 10 of these and want to turn all of them on at the same time - can't see this for car camping. - There is an option to charge your USB devices out of this lamp (as it acts as a power bank). With only 5 hours on the max light setting I can't see myself using this at all, the battery is around 3.000mAH, which is less than what you need to fully charge an iPhone 13. So you have the choice of nearly charging your iPhone once and then you don't have any juice left for light. - Price, this for me is the final deal-breaker, coming up to $152 with taxes, I could not justify this purchase. I probably would've kept it if it cost $70 (which is already a lot) but this sort of performance for something costing $152 is just criminal. For my future camping trips Ill rely on my headlamp, and LUCI solar-charged lights, which cost around $25.
Great Lantern
This is one of my favorite all purpose lights. The fact you can control with the wrist remote or cell phone app make it my choice. Very handy on the boat as a stationary light to tie the fishing knots. The night mode keeps the giant bugs attracted by any white light. Highly recommend this product. Ledlense did their homework and got it spot on with this lantern.
Ideal lighting product
The ML6 Connect exceeds expectations in every way. Connectivity with the app is instant and simple. The constant variable power and the “memory” setting are unmatched features that make sense and work flawlessly. The lantern feels substantial, is well built, and throws even and powerful light. Couldn’t be happier with this product!
Excellent product
I use the low-level red light for continuous pass-through illumination in a dark space. Excellent intensity without night blindness, and excellent battery life.
Upgrade
I bought this as an upgrade to my regular ML6. I am very happy. The warmer light is my favorite part. Along with the ability to remotely turn it on or off.
