I've worn these about 6 full daysgoing to fall football games, archery hunting and in my sleeping bag in below freezing temperatures at night. I'm 5'7", 215 pounds and the Large was a perfect size for me. I wore these under a pair of midweight performance pants in temperatures ranging from upper 20s to low 50s hiking to my stand with a pack and stand hunting for hours at a time. The fit was tight and stretchy, I barely felt that I was wearing them. I tend to overheat and sweat quickly when moving around. Despite this, I never felt too warm or too cold when wearing them. The thermo-regulating properties of these leggings are legit. The seam at the bottom is so thin that I couldn’t feel it when wearing tall boots which is a pain with some other other brands that bunch up or wont stretch. I can wear them both under and over heavier wool socks with ease and they snap right back to shape without permanently stretching them out. These leggings have now replaced my UL baselayers as my favorites rank in line with a set that zips on the side that I can remove without taking my boots and pants off which is great for big temperature and activity ranges. I would've given 5 stars if there was a side zipper.
I had high hopes for these. I'd heard good things in the past, and at the price point, I expected great things. For reference, I'm 6'3, 240 pounds. I got the XL size, and they fit well around the waist, a little loose. The big downfall for me was the length. I would love another inch or two of fabric. I wore them on a few hikes, and maneuvering was easy, but I often felt the waste line moving up and down. I didn't see a tall version but would love to see one. I kept having to pull them up to feel comfortable. The fabric was nice and comfortable. It washes easily, and I didn't notice it shrinking. I'm excited to try this in different winter conditions as it gets colder and see what pairs best with it.
Unfortunately the deadline for submitting a review was too soon. I haven't had a chance to use it in extremely cold or snowy weather. To the extent that I have been able to use it, it has been a really high quality product. The material is soft, comfortable, and breathable. It has kept me warm in roughly 32F weather. I look forward to using this product for skiing and other winter sports once winter weather arrives.
As someone who's legs get oddly cold, Ive struggled to find effective leggings. These are amazingly effective and more comfortable than any others Ive tried! They've done great in keeping me warm and dry in all sorts of conditions.
