Smartly designed tent, comfortable and easy to use
I really enjoy this tent. The unique Limelight pole design literally “raises the roof” and maximizes space within the footprint. The double vestis offer easy in and out for two and provides overflow storage of gear. Super easy set up - I actually look forward to it! I push my Limelight into winter use without issue. Highly recommend this tent for a 6 mile backpacking range/day.

tent leaks
The first time we used the limelight, we had light to moderate rain. The fly was taught. Inside, streaks of water came down the inside of the tent. As shown in the image, the fly does not seem to be waterproof. Two attempts to get Marmot to comment did not receive a reply.

Leaky

Moderate rain on first night of first trip, fly absorbed water. Fairly easy to set up, but the side vestibules are challenging to get tight. Nice and roomy inside.

Great finale shape and inside but.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great 2 person tent on the inside and feels much bigger when your inside it which is great but I have noticed 2 things, compared to another 2 person tent that I have the pack size is much larger so instead of fitting in my Backcountry bag like the smaller one I have it takes up bottom to top on my bag): that's on me I should've checked pack size, second is the weight difference compared to online, on site it says it weighes around 4 pounds and a lil more, when I got the product it's more over 5 which isn't a problem just weird. I will say it's a sick tent overall and has great construction along with color coded poles alligned as one for easy setup

Inexpensive Performance

For the price, the Limelight is a solid performer. It's the style and size that the majority of outdoor folks will at some point. It also won't break the bank. While ultralight tents shine for the fast packers and the weight conscious, the price for weight savings is a non linear formula. In other words you'll pay a lot more for a lot less when it comes to shaving ounces. I've used the lImelight in all its configurations over the years. Mine has been to Mexico, the Andes, and all over the US. It's a good three season performer and works even in the odd snowstorm. It's light enough to travel well and carry (if load is shared between two people).

Older model still going hard.

I really wanted to review my Limelight 2, but mine doesn't have the wings. Turns out it's an older version. But I've been using it for ten years, for weeks at a time, from the everglades through the northeast kingdom and out into western ontario forests. This thing has seen rivers, mountains, giant puppies, torrential downpours... and it's still good as the day I got it (I have patched some holes in the mesh). I use a lighter tent for solo backpacking and canoe trips, but any time I'm hiking in with my partner or road tripping, this thing is still old faithful. Has really stood up to the test of time.

Great but arrived damaged

I love this tent. The design is one of the best I’ve had so far. However, it arrived with a hole in the footprint. REI will allow me to return it — but I have to order another one & tie up $300. I reached out to Marmot directly to see about getting a patch, if not a new footprint. They sent me a link to a repair website so I could purchase the necessary items to fix it. Wow does it mean anything to be a consumer anymore?? Probably not going w Marmot in the future.

Nice size tent. Good features.

Setup is fairly easy after a quick dry run in the backyard. I was looking for something small enough to be packable and roomy enough for a 6’4” to fit. Room to spare for gear too!! Was extremely disappointed that the footprint came with a hole in it and no repair kit. Marmot fell short on that front.

Great tent but...

This tent was a great size but there is one thing that I either overlooked or did not find in the description. The vestibules (I have been calling them wings) on either side of the tent for extra storage are not held up by poles. They are loose and require guidelines in order to be taunt. The vestibules would have been great as they do give the feel of extra space and reduces the feeling of claustrophobia. Unfortunately, adding 2 more guidelines to a tent to get the extra space was not what I was looking to get. I did return the tent for the Tungsten 3P tent instead.
