Found it inferior to REI Passage 2

I ordered this once but returned it after just unpacking and ended up buying the REI Passage 2 tent. So no in field test was made. But the Klymit tent just felt cheaper materials (maybe somewhat outdated materials) starting with the poles, compared to the Passage 2. I like my Passage 2, a simple, easy well thought through tent, for a similar or even cheaper price.

Not too shabby

Out of the box I lugged this thing up a mountain for a night in the wilderness without attempting to set it up beforehand, by the time I got to the campsite it was pitch black and 20mph winds. I figured it was gonna be a chore to get the tent set up but I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was even with the wind! I got this tent up in about 15 minutes and I’m pretty sure if there was no wind it would’ve taken 5. The pole system is great and basically puts itself together, also the dual entry is a good feature! Overall I’m impressed with the quality and ease of assembly.

Not great in the rain

Just used this tent for the first time and it happened to be raining - the lack of a more well-set up vestibule is a real pain - you can just about store your shoes and a small backpack. The zipper on the cover gets stuck ALL THE TIME so you can't quickly go in and out (which is a total bummer when it rains). Other than that (which i think is pretty major) - it's cool that you can almost be standing up (i'm 5'7") it's about as roomy as a 4-person tent is. Overall - not super impressed unfortunately. For a summer-only tent it might be nice but where we are it rains a lot, would not recommend if you like to get out there no matter the weather.

held up in intense storm

I bought this for a camping trip a couple of weeks ago, it held up through crazy downpours and wind without any water getting in. I was very impressed.

Great for sale price

Very nice tent-I have owned it for over a year now. Withstood a good rain/wind storm the first time I used it. I was dry and others in my group were wet. My only qualm is that it does not come with a stuff sack, rather a wrap that is more or less useless to me. I use my own stuff sack and it works out ok.

Great headspace, easy setup, amazing features

The cross canyon 3 is a pretty compact for a 3 person tent and and it is a true 3 person tent. There is plenty of room, in fact I went on a backpacking trip with myself (6’3” and 220lbs, and two other men who are both over 510 and 180 lbs and there was plenty of room for us and some gear! As a taller person I enjoyed being able to sit up in the tent even near the side walls. The double doors and vestibules make it easier to get in and out without climbing over anyone. The storage is superb and exceeds most tents I’ve seen in the past as well.

Great backpacking tent!

My wife and I are preparing to section hike the AT with our 2 dogs. We went to a hike in campsite. It took me 5 minutes to completely erect the tent w/ fly by myself. Comparable to other 3 person tents, it’s spacious inside. There’s large vestibules for gear storage. The upper portion on the tent is a durable mesh, and as we realized in 26-30 degree weather, more suited for warmer times of the year. The floor is very durable. Our dogs have long nails and they didn’t rip any of the floor. The weight is very reasonable and works best if you separate pieces between you and someone else, or different parts of your pack to maintain an even weight distribution. We hiked 15 miles and didn’t notice the weight difference when we had the tent in our packs. A solid choice for beginning backpackers!

Easy Set Up, Great Size for Tall Dude

I bought a different tent and felt cramped inside of it. I am 6'2" and it was tough to sit up in the other tent. I ended up grabbing this Cross Canyon 2-Person because of the additional height. It feels roomy inside and I can easily kneel straight up. I would say that it's great for one person and a bunch of gear. With two people you would have to be very organized and keep somethings outside/in the car. All in all, I really like this tent and would recommend for sure.

Good, simple, easy to use tent

The tent is too heavy and bulky for ultralight backpacking but makes a very nice car camping tent. The 2-person packs as large as my 4-person klymit maxfield which is a much better backpacking tent for the family. The cross country is easy to setup, solid in wind and rain, and has a lot of organization inside along with a decent amount of external storage for a small tent. It's a hot tent in the summer if you need to keep ths rainfly down. It's one of the few small tents that has 2 doors and on the large side of the tent so it's very easy entry and exit or for the kids to run through. It's a great value, IMO.

Durable and Affordable

I love this tent! Great ventilation, and moisture control. Durable during rain and snow. A little on the heavier side but it packs up nicely! one of my favorite features is the roll matt it comes with to pack itself up. Easy to install in the dark. I definatley recomend this product. You get the quality of a higher end back packing tent at an affordable price. Perfect for any entry level backpacker or backcountry hunter who doesnt want to break the bank.
