The Shangri-la of Winter Hats

I finally found the ultimate Winter hat! It checks all the boxes. Insulated with Primaloft. Wind protection, rain protection, sun protection, and ear protection. The seal around the face is excellent - a deal breaker on all earflap hats I've tried. This also has a smart adjustable clasp at the chin to really seal things up. Some have said this hat runs large, but that's all relative to your head size and the size chart. I'm 23.5 inches and this falls on the upper side of the large range. I need to leave the rear adjuster on max and wouldn't want this hat any smaller.

Almost perfect!

I'm a hat snob after living cold weather all my life and this is my new favorite hat out of about 30 in my collection. Great for snowplowing as the tractor likes to blow snow at my head on windy days. Highly recommended for windy conditions. Also nice coming out of the snow fort winter camping on a -7F morning and having this hat on to keep warm. It's almost the perfect hat, just need to find a wind blocking material that is less noisy. It's not as noisy as Gore-Tex, but still blocks more sound than I want.

Keeps my ears and neck warm

Comfortable on my head. Not too tight. Only negative is the buckle that secures under the chin loosens.

Nice try, but needs some adjustments

I kept this hat for one season hoping I would grow to like it. No such luck… The crown of the hat is too tall, so when I wear it, the hat falls down into my eyes. There is no good way to fasten the flaps back if I want. When I attach the strap to itself around the top of my head, it slides down behind my neck. If I left the straps loose, the ear flaps would catch the wind. And the brim is too small and flimsy to protect my glasses from snow and rain.

Great for Wind/ Cold

Love the wind protection, warmth, and bill to keep the sun out of my eyes, although I’d be thrilled if there was one with a larger/ sturdier bill too. There’s some extra fleece lining that covers my eyebrows a bit uncomfortably. Otherwise I love the ease of adjusting the length & opening/ closing the chin clasp. I like the looseness of the hat as it is, so i have not tightened the back yet… which may resolve some of the fleece on my eyebrows:)

Ready for the cold!

Very nice, soft, and warm. I'm glad it has a visor. I am a birder and this visor will protect my eyes while also letting me easily use my binoculars or camera. My only problem with it is that the medium is a little large for me and there wasn't the option to buy a smaller size.

The quilted trapper cap is well built and warm but seems to run a bit large. When worn with the earflaps down it rides too far down on the forehead obstructing your vision. wish the visor was larger and a bit stiffer. Nice hat and with a little design tweaking would be real nice.

Excellent cold-weather hat

This is a great hat for extreme cold (and if you’re like me) to keep ears and neck toasty! Nice adjustable hat (using a little strap at back of head) and adjustable neck strap. If anything, it’s can be too warm, but I’ll take that any time!

Great ear covers and brim.

We live in the Rockies and my ears can't take the cold because I froze them when I was a kid. This hat is the perfect solution for protecting my ears. And it fits under my ski helmet. The brim keeps the bright sun out of my eyes.
