Smartwool  Active Beanie

I love Merino smartwool products, but this hat is too small. It does not cover my ears. My baseball hat size is 7 5/8, which is big, but not that big. I wish they made a larger size.

I love this lightweight cap. I use these under helmet of all kinds when the chill hits. It’s also great to throw in your pack or pocket if you are out hiking, running etc. I’m often in places where weather turns fast so having an emergency head cover is a must. It’s very warm for its weight and has is easy to clean when you make it back to civilization.

I bought this beanie to knock the chill off while on the trail. It’s not too heavy where you will get hot. It really ventilates well. I don’t however use it on those cold nights on the trail. I use a heavier beanie. This one is perfect to have some ventilation.

I’ve been on the lookout for a very thin merino wool beanie style hat for several years but never found a color I liked. This is perfect for wearing under my ski helmet or under beanies for extra warmth.

This item, #204255, is the 2nd beanie I have purchased from REI. It is too small. The other beanie I purchased is the Smartwool Active Fleece Beanie, Item #1917080001. It is much larger, and fits well.

Comfortable and machine washable. It doesn’t slide off my head.

This is a relatively thin fabric, which makes it great for cool (not sooo cold) days. Calling it a "beanie" is wrong, though, as it comes down far enough to fully cover my ears and much of the back of my neck. Oh, and it's soft and comfy, too!

I really like this little beanie. It is lightweight, silky and stretches over my head. It doesn't tug on my hair like headbands. I forget it's there. It keeps my head the perfect temperature.

I shave my head consequently I can feel the material beanies are made of. This is soft and effective
