Runs waay to small - fits youth maybe
Originally ordered a Large, as I am a Large in REI and North Face products. The large was co.ically small and fit my 15yr old son. He kept it as it him and has decent build quality. I reordered a an XL and it was barely roomy enough with a T-shirt and the neck was so tight it pinched my neck in the unprotected zipper. With the wind stop sewn in this is really not a good mid layer, so i don' t understand the slim fit.
Solid fleece jacket
This is one of my favorites for the 30-50 degree temp range. I like the sort of retro 90s styling but the Polartech sherpa and DWR finish provide wind and water resistance compared to more basic fleece. It is also super soft, warm, and does a good job venting sweat. The sherpa is probably a little thick to use in a multi-layer setup but as a standalone jacket or single insulator under a shell it is great.
Awesome Jacket
Purchased this just before a camping trip in pretty cold weather. I typically wear medium at 5'11"/150lb, but I noticed this runs a little large as the dimensions are roughly equal to some large shirts I wear. At any rate, this wasn't a big deal at all, and the extra room actually proved to help more than hurt; I could fit a lot more layers under this jacket because of it. Materials are nice and comfy. I was able to sleep well enough in a sleeping bag with this on. One thing I didn't realize I really needed until I had it was the dual-sided front zipper (I guess that's what you call it). Since the dimensions run a little long for me, the jacket does ride up my waist when I sit down. However, with the bottom zipper zipped up just a little, the waist of the jacket doesn't ride up one bit. Makes a world of difference! I don't think I'll buy another jacket like this without that dual zipper. Overall a great jacket!
A Cut for cut ripoff of a North Face Denali jacket
I don't really care one way or another, but in scrolling through jackets on the REI site I couldn't help but realize this is a less attractive copy of the classic North Face Denali jacked that I owned as a teenager 20 years ago. Bravo Topo Designs, impressive work.
