The REI Co-Op Men’s Swiftland H2O Running Jacket is a highly versatile, thoughtfully, detailed, and warm outdoor layer that kept me comfortable during my cold mornings while participating in family workouts, photography, and birding.
I have been getting a lot of use out of the REI Co-Op Men’s Swiftland H2O Running Jacket. I use it a great deal on those cool or cold mornings and evenings when my running hoodie just isn’t quite warm enough. As a photographer, I’m often outside early. I also enjoy early morning workouts with my boys and birding. The mornings are some of my favorite times to be out, but they are often very cold and I need to be able to concentrate. This jacket gives me that ability to focus on my photography and not that I might be cold. One thing I’ve been noticing with REI clothing I’ve picked up is the attention to little details. I do really appreciate that even something as simple as the hanging loop is more of a wire than a piece of fabric. That makes it feel stronger and more thought out. There are small details like this throughout this jacket… It is well designed. I like that this running jacket has snaps for the side pockets. Yes, I am a fan of snaps! It just makes it easy to put the most common item that would go into those pockets in there, gloves. Be aware because it is snaps as pocket closures, it is not as secure zippers, so I would not put anything super important in the side pockets because each only has one snap. Thankfully, there is a chest pocket with a zipper for items that need to be more secure. I like this jacket and it’s more natural coloring. Take a look at the photos I included with this review. Different cameras represent color slightly differently so speaking as a photographer, I want this jacket color to be perfectly understood. The hood and end of the sleeves and shoulders are a brown color. The rest of the body of the jacket is a tan color. Very nice and natural and go very well together. @rei invested a lot of thought into these items I’ve recently picked up including this jacket and overall. I am a big fan of @rei and I am happy they maintain their own line of clothing. The versatility of this jacket is going to make it a keeper for me. If I’m outside and it’s cold, you will be seeing me wear this jacket. I’m gonna have to pick up a couple more REI Co-Op Men’s Swiftland H2O Running Jackets for my boys @rei because this is such a good product. Thank you and keep producing awesome outdoor gear.
