Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tentstile Flight+ @ North-South Lake Campground As a ranger for The Dyrt, I took the Flight+ on my summer vacation and tested it in the Catskill Mountains of New York. I picked a very serene location next to a shady stream to set it up. It was lightweight and stowed away easily in the compact stuff bag. This made it easy to transport. The directions were clear and easy to follow but there is a little bit of a learning curve with this tent. To set-up and level properly, you need to have 3 trees with good spacing in a triangle. Customer service is great about assisting over the phone and videos are provided as well if needed. Once it is done, this tree tent is comfortable and you can relax in comfort high and dry above the ground. It was very peaceful laying in this sleek-designed tent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty comfy Easy to set up once you get the "hang" of it for proper tension. Really enjoying it so long as the two persons are not drastically differing weights

Questions & Answers

I feel like if I buy this tent i will need perfect place to set up like three trees in a perfect triangle and grass underneath and i go steath camping so that is pretty hard to find. Is it true that i need all of these things to set up this tent?

This tent does require 3 points of attachment. A ratchet strap kit is included, however, longer straps can be substituted if used in larger spaces.

I'm six foot four inches tall, 220 pounds. I see the limitation but since I'll be the only one in the tent and weight is a factor as I mostly backpack. Is this tent still too small?

Asked by: lurch
As indicated, this tent may not be suitable for you because it is not sized for larger individuals. This tent is not recommended for backpacking.

I read the question above and the answer. The answer said this tent is not suitable for backpacking. Directory above the question is a link "tentsile back packing tents" and this tent come up. So is it or is it not suitable for backpacking?

It is possible to use this tent for backpacking, you can use any tent for backpacking. But, I would not recommend using this tent because it is rather heavy. In order to be able to suspend it's weight and the occupants weight in the air, the tent uses heavy straps and heavy metal ratchets. You could split a tent between two people and decrease the per person weight, but it would still be significantly heavier than a traditional half dome.
