Outershell only
This is not a lined windbreaker, so it is very thin. It is splash proof, and feels kind of like tent or parachute material. It is nice to wear over a long sleeve shirt, if it is chilly and you do not wear anything under it you will be cold. Fitting is true to it's size, and very comfortable, but if you are looking for a warmer jacket they do a sell a lined version of this one!
MY MOM LOVE COLUMBIA!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket to my mom, and she love it!! Btw, My mom is Columbia super fans!!
My Go-To Light Adventure Jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is so much more than just a windbreaker! If you're looking for a light and dependable jacket - look no further! This jacket is perfect for rain or shine, spring or summer. The lightweight and water resistant jacket is my go-to light adventure jacket. Whether I'm out and about either on the lake, river, dirt roads in Nevada or various trails around Lake Tahoe - you won't see me leaving the house without this bad boy packed in my daypack. I have countless Columbia jackets and various goods for all seasons: light weight and heavy winter styles, and this one surely does please just like the rest of my Columbia outerwear.
Exactly What I Wanted
For me, Columbia is a brand that tends to run small. I always order a size larger than other brands. This is why I have listed this as "a little small." It fits exactly how I wanted it to (loosely) given I got it as a packable, light rain shield to go over other things that may have a touch of bulk. I'm also warm natured, so this allows me the perfect coverage for everyday in slightly cooler or winder locations. I love it! The wrist elastics do not hug my wrist, but I still like the fit. The space here may pose a problem if you enjoy running in the rain with your arms lifted above your head, but I do not normally do that sort of thing.
LOVE this jacket!!!!
I was looking for a light summer/spring/fall jacket and this jacket is perfect. I'll mostly be wearing during the summer later in the evening when it gets cool. I am 5'1" 120 lbs and the small fits perfectly. It is not too tight in small like some of columbia's other jackets. It has a really nice taper at the waist. I could fit a very light fleece underneath if i wished. The coat is long enough i am sure for the taller folks. It comes about 7"-8" below my waist. The Foxglove color is beautiful! I just love it thanks Columbia for making such wonderful products!# We are not built like men and do not wish to have our clothes styled like men's.#THANKS. Carol
Great windbreaker!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this windbreaker as just a light jacket to throw on for cool days but not cold enough for fleece. It is great! I typically wear a medium but order large for jackets since I usually have layers on under them and don't like things to be tight. This is very true to size, I could have gotten a medium and been just fine because the large is big on me but I don't mind it being a little roomy. I also like the tie at the bottom so I can tie it above my hips and doesn't hang down like a dress. I got the green/ pond color and love it! Very cute for fall days in Georgia! Super light and airy, so I wouldn't get this if you were wanting something to be warm because this is pretty thin.
Surprised
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very surprised how light weight the coat is. It is very functional for everyday use. Not to hot, not to cold, just right for spring. I was very disappointed how easily the coat snaged on something and now have 2 small holes near the bottom heam. Just remember to be mindful of what your doing wearing this coat, it is not a "work" coat, more for "show". The sizing is very good and true to fit. I like to wear 2X for the extra room with my regular clothes and this coat fits the same. I can easily wear a sweater or sweatshirt and the fit is still comfortable. Overall, I love Columbia products!
lightweight and functional
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is exactly what I was looking for in a super-light, windbreaker that packs down small. I wanted enough room under it to layer with a thin fleece if needed, so I got one size larger and it gives me just enough room to layer without looking too large. I also prefer my jackets to be loose, so regardless of whether I layer it works well. I wasn't a fan of the bottom drawstring, so I actually cut most of it out (turns out there is a stitch in the back that keeps it from moving too much from one side or the other, so I cut out everything but an inch on either side of that stitch). All in all I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend. I also liked the color combo (dark cyan/wind).
Plus Size Windbreaker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so incredibly happy with my purchase. Being a plus size woman, it’s really hard for me to find any outer layer clothing that fits properly. I was super skeptical about this purchase and when it arrived, it was packed so small I was worried that it wouldn’t fit. But when i tried it on, I had happy tears! I showed everyone my new jacket and I’ve been getting compliments on it every time that I wear it! I absolutely love it and I am now going to be shopping and recommending Colombia to everyone! This is my first windbreaker and Colombia really boosted my self confidence. Thank you.
Love this Jacket!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After running a 10k in a rain storm and being miserable, I decided to try this as rain gear. I love it. It is soft and flexible, so comfortable and great to run in, and breathable. Some rain jackets are stiff, and therefor not suitable for what I'm doing. Though not thick, it does cut the wind and keeps me surprisingly warm, especially after I start my run. I would only ever wear a thin layer under it for my purposes, and there is plenty of room for that. I've only worn it in light rain, not the monsoon I experienced before, but the water does bead up on the top and keep me pretty dry. I will definitely be using this a lot both in my running and in just running the kids around town. Cute and functional.
