Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Design I have been searching for a backpack that meets very specific criteria for a couple of months now and to no avail - but this one is perfect. It compresses down, but it also has a ton of room to carry what ever you need. The interior is orange - making it easy to visualize necessary items. And the waxed canvas exterior is such a classic look with modern appeal and utility. The online pictures don't really do the pack justice. It's also super comfortable and light. I love that it has a removable hip belt. In another review someone commented on the metal hardware to close the bag and I have not had a problem with them. I feel they add a really nice upscale and durable touch and were actually one of the items I really liked in the pack.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great, works...ok This bag is visually exactly what I was looking for - a bit of the retro look without the retro design. The only issue is that functionally it's about on par with any $20 bag you'd pick up at a department store. The method of latching the lid down is absurd - two finicky little hooks that are a pain to latch and simply fall out in the normal course of use. The method of closing the main pouch is equally ridiculous, involving a complex drawstring mechanism that must be hooked and pulled in just the right way. I'm honestly not sure I could accomplish it without looking. All in all, a good offering (and a beautiful *looking* bag), but not a five star product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Design, Durable and Good Size for Day+ pack This product exceeded my expectations.... been looking for a good sturdy pack for several years. Wanted one that was durable and not ripstop. Needed a Day+ pack to complement my large back pack. - Great for the bush, but it's nice enough looking to be an "Around Town" pack (the color is actually nicer in person). - Like that the pack can be quite narrow when strapped down, yet hold a ton of stuff if needed. - Had no problems with the metal latches on a 10 day back country experience.... use the pack every day. Metal clasps are easy to use and I really liked the inside feature of the drawstring to keep contents a bit drier. - Light enough weight with good durability and waste strap came in handy when pack was fully loaded and had to scramble up steep hills - The 3 small zip pockets and inside separator were also very handy ! - Only thing missing was an outside water bottle pouch. ** Would order another in a heartbeat **

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile pack I have been cycling to work during the week and cragging on the weekends with it. I've gotten lots of compliments on the pack around Seattle and at the crag. It has that old school kind of look to it with the canvass like material they are using.

I owned this backpack in the past and it was unfortunately stolen. I am going to buy another one. Does it still have the metal hooks or did they get replaced with plastic? I loved the metal hooks.

Is this pack set up to be compatible with a hydration bladder?

Asked by: jsjoblom
This pack does have an inside pocket that will hold a hydration reservoir, but it does not have a port that will allow you to route the drink tube to the outside of the pack.
