I've had my Elqui 18L backpack for a few weeks now and I love it. It's very comfortable and has excellent pocket options to help me stay organized on my daily outings. Side-pockets work well for my water bottle, thermos and phone, while my eyeglasses and spork fit nicely in the easy-to-access strap pockets. The inside zipper pouch keeps my wallet and keys safe and the bigger pocket works well for my notebook. It's the perfect size to carry what I need for the day. Inside compartment fits my lunch and extra layers with room to spare. Outside breathable pocket is great for rain gear, gloves and hat. Delightfully practical, simple design. I love it!
Backpack is very well made and functional
The measurements are way off. We got this as an Allegiant air personal item. It was very much smaller than the specs… maybe those are flat measurements? You definitely cannot pack a long weekend worth of clothes, etc in it. I got it also for a hiking bag and it will probably be good for a day hike. Shoulder straps are not very cushioned, so not sure how great it will be. If you want an Allegiant Airlines personal item bag where you can max it out, then go with the Luzon 24L. I had room to spare in that one! This bag isn’t that attractive and is kinda $$
I did end up returning this size and ordering the 24L one, I work at a summer camp and always have so much shoved into my backpack that I needed the bigger size for it to work for me. I got the grain color way and I actually really liked it, it does have green undertones but all the pops of color really work together. The waist strap is skinny but I think most of the pressure will be in the shoulder straps (if your pack is heavy) that the waist one just serves to keep the bag from bouncing around.
I purchased the Elqui 18L and 24L to compare and ended up keeping the 24L. I found the 18L to be a little small for longer day hikes especially if you need multiple layers or pack a lot of water. I play tennis and this backpack is large enough to hold a racket, shoes, but you would need to sqeeze in an additional jacket. I wish the pockets on the straps were slightly bigger. They're large enough to hold my iPhone 15 Pro but I do feel that I need to be rough putting in and taking it out. I got both the grain and foam/silver leaf color. The grain has a military green undertone while the foam/silver leaf is accurate to the website pictures. The 18L also does not have a small zip pocket at the top the way the 24L does. Overall, this is a great bag that could work well for those that want an aesthetic and lightweight bag for day hiking or running errands.
This is a well-made, lightweight day pack with dual bottle pockets and comfortable ventilated straps. Although it doesn't have a frame, the structure is sturdy enough to give the bag a durable feel. The stash pocket is deep and can easily accommodate a light jacket or similar items. This pack will go inside my suitcase for daily carry at destinations when I fly.
I recently purchased this pack for daily commute via public transportation. It is great for a minimalist commuter, only book, phone, headphones and other essentials. Very sturdy and comfortable to wear. The straps are easy to adjust and can easily be molded to your liking.
I am happy with the quality of the backpack. It has enough storage pockets and straps. The chest and waist strap are removable which adds to the possible configurations. It should serve well as a carry on and day pack.
I love this pack for my commuting and work. It has thoughtful pockets that fit smaller items inside, an electronics pouch that fits my iPad Pro without issue and straps that are easily customizable and comfortable.
