Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect This is my only cup. I use it all the time, for all types of drinks. I love the style, the durability, and the looks I get when folks see me pour grounds into my mug directly. Followed by the looks when I produce the French press.. Priceless, as the cliche goes. What's not so hot about it is that is super top heavy. Here in Maui, the wind can blow it over. Another thing, due to its tippy nature, I tend to hang it off the handle, now the rubber is wearing and peeling. Nothing disastrous, and it's still my favorite cup ever. It even has a stash for more grounds! I suppose if you are easily frustrated, this isn't the one for you. It's certainly the one for me though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hiking mug for coffee on the trail Nothing beats a cup of coffee in the morning or a hot drink around the campfire which is why I purchased this over 5 years ago ...and am still loving it. Pro: This mug has taken some banging around having dangled off my pack for many miles but outside of scratches in the finish it is still going strong. Holds just shy of 16 fluid ounces with the coffee press in. The double screens (one in the press and one in the lid) does a good job of keeping the coffee grinds out. Storage compartment is a neat idea and useful for storing coffee, creamer, sugar, etc ...but not much. Con: Weight 16 oz it will add to your pack weight

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for work or play! This french press mug is a true gift to coffee enthusiasts. Its compact, secure container for coffee grounds is great for that second cup of late afternoon, pick-me-up coffee. Coffee or tea stays warm for a good while. The french press top has an extra filter over the sipping hole and so can be used without exchanging with the regular lid (also included). It's sturdy but heavy and is given to tipping with its narrow bottom made to fit car cup holders. Despite having a great handle which can be clamped on anything, neither lid provides enough security to clamp on with any liquid still inside (mess will be had). Regardless, I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One year of near everyday use I have used this product almost every day throughout the year and in a wide variety of conditions. It is great for a large single serving. Just pour near-boiling water in it and it will stay hot for a few hours. I am not very gentle with how I handle this mug to the extent of dropping it, stuffing it in a pack, or just inadvertently knocking it over. It is spill resistant and creates very little mess when covered. It stays clean and does not retain residue if you are willing to take a minute to rinse it out and wipe down the press after every use. Personally, I do not like to clean it in the dishwasher often, but when I have, it has suffered no ill effect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Camping Coffee Solution My wife needed a coffee solution for camping in our small Airstream. Taste and heat are important to her, taking up little space in a small trailer is important to me. We tried everything. From our testing, French presses make the best tasting coffee but lose heat fast. So we tried this mug. The coffee tasted as good as any french press but it excels in insulation. I'm still suffering from the burns on my tongue as I write this. Very hot and enjoyable even at the one hour mark. The filter in the press and lid keep out any bits of coffee and the handle is very comfortable. Great purchase and solved our camping coffee problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great mug, with one problem I love this mug. It's solidly built, beautiful, and very functional. And it's amazing I feel this way, because my first sip from it ever burned my mouth and lips quite badly. I had poured boiling water in it to make tea, and then I placed the lid on it and let it steep. The thing is amazingly insulated, as we know, and steam pressure built up inside. As I took my first sip, a big gush of super hot liquid exploded out of the sip hole and shot into my mouth and over my lips. The pain took my breath away. So enjoy, but use with caution when brewing tea with boiling water. In the future, I will let the tea steep with the top off for a minute, to let the steam dissipate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Coffee Mug! I thought this mug was kind of expensive when I first bought it, but after using it every day for a few months now, I honestly think it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. Instead of paying almost $2.00 for a cup of coffee at work, I make my own. The ergonomics are nice, the plunger is smooth, and it's super easy to clean. It's not completely insulated like a thermos (nothing is), but my coffee is still pretty hot 20-30 minutes later. The coffee storage container at the bottom is a nice addition, and I'll definitely use it next time I go camping.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fragile Plastic Press Fingers I love this travel mug. The second cup on the base is why I got it. I have one major issue with it. The press mechanism is plastic instead of metal, unlike Bodum French presses. This means inserting the plunger into the cup could actually damage it if you don't give it your full attention. If the plunger press was changed to a metal design like the Bodum press I would give it 5 stars but I am sure there are patens on it and that is why they went with plastic. For the price with plastic plunger it is over priced

Are you able to add creamer etc. after pressing the coffee?  I have read that is an issue with other mugs.

Asked by: ot-pam
You can certainly use creamer with the Double Shot Press Mug. We would recommend thoroughly cleaning the entire mug, lid, and press afterwards.

How do i go about adding cream and sugar with the press in the cup? Do I pour it through the little screen on the lid? There has to be an easier way. Thank you.

Asked by: LynnMcNamara
Cream and sugar should go in after the coffee grounds and right before the water is added.
