As close to perfect as it gets!
This pack is a noticeable improvement over the old model. The straps are sturdy and thin. The backing is vented and durable. The side mesh pockets are now much taller and can hold a full sized water bottle. The annoying flaps that covered the zippers are now gone. And the front of the pack now has a rubber lining to keep your stuff dry in a rain storm. The only thing I could improve is make the pack about 5 liters bigger. This pack is just about perfect!

Too small
it is a good pack but not for a full day out on the trail. it is just way too small...I like to pack in case of an emergency and even without over packing I still cannot fit all the NECESSARY ITEMS I want to take. plus if I take an outer layer off I have to tie it around my waist due to not enough room

Great day pack!

I love this pack for day hiking & biking! It worked great in Acadia National Park when I hiked mountains that required food, map, medication/first aid, pullover, and two 24 ml water bottles. I also carried drawing & weaving stuff that I used along the shores of Acadia and appreciated the waterproof construction. I like having water bottles in outside bottom pockets but know that you can't reach them with the pack on due to it being a smaller pack. The material of construction is all high quality and seems to be the same quality as larger packs. The number of compartments (2 large compartments w/multiple pockets) worked well in organizing my stuff. I look for the straps to hold up well over time. The zippers are of high quality as well. There are a few extra pockets & straps with hooks. Like all Osprey packs, it is built with good ergonomic structure to keep the weight from pulling downward. I had wished that the belt was padded a bit like the shoulder straps but that didn't end up making a difference in comfort. The waste strap was fine. I liked the additional chest strap. I struggle with low back pain and had no issues caused by the pack. It was fully comfortable & functioned well. For those of you who like prints & unique colors, I purchased the Magnolia Print in Jubilee Blue. The blue is kind of a slate muted blue. It's pretty & fun! They had other colors & prints I considered too. If you backpack alone, this pack is not large enough for overnight trips. I also think it's not quite large enough for today's high school/college students who carry at least 3 books, notebooks, computer, & backpack. It may be fine for elementary students if their 3-ring binder fits.

little small for what I need, otherwise great bag

I bought this bag to take along with me for my field bio class that'd usually last about 8 hours. I'd usually have two 32 oz bottles, a clipboard, rope, binoculars, lunch/snacks, keys/wallet and sun protection that'd be able to fit in my bag. I'd be able to strap a quadrat or transect to the outside with the buckles. With the bottles in the side pockets, it was hard to take things in and out of the main compartment. It also never really fit a jacket on days that I'd need one in the morning, so I'd have to tie it somewhere. Good for day hikes and I use it at my camp education job, but invest in something slightly bigger if you're using it for a class

Great back for day hikes. Perfect size.

Good size for hiking, I upgraded from the single shoulder strap to the double, this was a much needed upgrade to alleviate shoulder/neck pain. The water bottle pockets are a little tight so you won't be squeezing any 32 oz or larger water bottles in there, but 24 oz and less fit fine (skinnier bottles).

Gone through the ringer and has basically never failed me

I have had this bag for almost 6 years now and I think it's unbreakable. I have overstuffed it daily for multiple summer work seasons where it was thrown in dirt, dropped, filled with weird things, whatever you can think of, then taken on multiple overseas trips (both for day hiking and as a city/travel bag). It's 13L, so obviously it's not going to fit everything, but I was actually surprised to see that it's only 13L because it sort of DOES fit everything. You can strap a billion things to the outside. I can't really remember a time I haven't found a way to fit everything I need in it. This bag has been with me through most important things in my life xo

Almost perfect

I wanted to love this backpack. The size and structure and pockets are all ON POINT. However, the piece of fabric creating the handle between the shoulder straps was excruciatingly painful. It cut into my neck and pushed my head forward so much that I had a pounding headache and horrible rash in less than half and hour. When I lowered the pack so the strap didn't hit my neck the bottom edge dug into my lower back. Ended up having to carry the pack the rest of the way back in my hand and return it straight away. Super disappointing, I've thought about it everyday since then because the pockets are so great. Wish there was an option without that handle piece!

Perfect for the motorcycle

I needed a small backpack for my motorcycle to carry my gym clothes back and forth to the gym. This works perfectly, my sweats fit in the main compartment and my shoes fit in the two outside pockets that have a strap to keep them secure. The cooling channels that are built in make the ride very comfortable to the point I hardly even notice the pack going down the highway.

Colorful Bag with many pockets

I love the multi-colored day pack. It makes it easy for my traveling companion to find me. I also like the numerous pockets which help me keep organized. And the large pocket makes it very easy to carry an extra coat and a book or laptop. I really enjoy it.

Perfect Pack

Very comfy & well made. Tested it out on a 5 hour hike in the mountains & was able to carry my 2L water bladder, dehydrated meal, backpacking stove, fuel, Toaks pot, spoon, my foldable foam sit pad, snack bar & my jacket! Also hung my P-style (in case) with a mini carabiner. It’s the perfect size to fit many items, all without being huge. I’m 5’4” - 125 pounds. The padded shoulder straps, sternum strap and hip belt are great too.
