This is a very well constructed merino base layer that has integrated breathable mesh fabric strategically placed on the areas where you perspire the most ~ arms, pits, sides and back. This layer performs excellent on high intensity endeavors keeping your body temperature comfortably regulated by expelling moisture away from your skin. I have worn this next to my skin and also with a breathable poly t-shirt underneath and from my experience I prefer wearing a shirt underneath to better optimize the layering system. This is an impressively lightweight and durable high performance base layer that never disappoints! There design and attention to detail is simply the Best I have ever seen in the outdoor clothing space! Buy with confidence! This high end small company out of Colorado is truly something to behold ~ Very satisfied with the quality of this product 😀
Really nice base layer and worth the money. Great for cold. 30 degrees with a sweater is not a problem. But also great for 50's and some humidity. Did a 3 mile walk today in some rain with a light shell, with a gym session thrown in between. Temp around 58. Not hot, not cold. Sweat at the gym, but the shirt didn't soak at all. When I left the gym for the walk back, felt dry immediately. Biggest complement is the fit. I am 6'1 190, 34in waist. Size L. I ordered both a large and medium, returned the medium as it was a little too tight - it did fit well, but wanted just a little more length at the waist. The L is perfect but still form fitting. Sleeve length is great. What you cannot see on the website is the back of the shirt, which has the same material structure as the elbows and side. The back breathes [still wool], and the elbow material structure is great for working out. It does not bunch up. For comparison, I have an older icebreaker 200 size L, and an ortovox 185 size xl. The artilect feels a tad lighter, but is definitely snugger on the arms, which I like. Really like wearing this under any mid layer as it feels like a second skin with no bunching. I am sure that a newer icebreaker would be more form fitting, and a size L ortovox would most likely have a similar fit. That said, awesome base layer. I ended up also ordering their Flatiron 185 leggings after having this shirt which are also fantastic, but that is another story.
This is a great undershirt for just cold weather in general. Fits comfortably and is so much more friendly than traditional heavier pieces. Wear it all the time when its cold.
Hand-washed this three times with Merino wool wash. It's continues to "bleed" dye which cannot be good for the skin.
Fits a little snug but looks great and good quality material. Feels comfy
I instantly loved this once I put it on. What else can I say.
Perfect fit, well made and durable
