I nearly made the mistake of returning this shirt to REI. Initially I didn't like the fit as it seemed to hug my curves a bit too much. I decided to give it a try and I began to fall in love almost immediately. The comfort and utility of this top are unmatched. After wearing a few times the shirt relaxed and it fits and hangs nicely(no more clingy feeling). The mock turtle neck is a great feature and helps keep the warmth in. The hood is perfect: unlike most hoods, this one moves with you and stays in place. This hoodie is so good that I'm having to fight myself to keep from buying another(I don't need more than one). The mink/colorshift looks good enough to be worn as an outer layer. I'm 6'0", and 200 pounds and the XL fits me perfectly(not snug). Size down if you want a snug base layer type fit.

A Favorite Hoodie

I love this merino hoodie. It's a great trim fit for a nonbinary person whose arms are too long for women's clothes but who doesn't have a massive chest. Very comfortable neck opening and the hood makes for a nice loose neck warmer. I could live in this garment, so I bought a second one. Those are mountains in the woven pattern in the torso. It's a lightweight base layer and it goes well over three or four other lightweight layers.
