Almost Perfect
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shorts and storage are great, the liner, not so much. This is my second version of these shorts and it's definitely an improvement over the previous version. The waist storage is secure and bounce free without being too tight. The material of the shorts is light and unrestrictive and great to run in. The only issue is that the brief is not comfortable at all. The elastic around the legs digs in and seems like an After thought. I have removed the brief on both pairs of these shorts and simply wear a liner and are my favorite shorts to run in. Fix the liner and they will be one of the best shorts around.
True to size
These shorts run true to size. Unfortunately, I followed the advice of several people saying they run small, and ordered a size up from what I would get in other running short brands. They’re definitely too big. For reference, I’m a 31/32 waist, and I’m a medium in every brand. I ordered a large because a few people said they run really small. The large is loose in the waist and definitely feels baggy overall. I think Adidas made a great product that has been slandered by a few people who don’t have experience buying running shorts.
Seem nice? TINY size. Not even close.
I'm a 30 waist so I ordered a small according to the size chart. Not only are they too small, they almost don't go over my hips. They fit my 11 year old son, though! So now he's got a new pair of shorts. That's how small these are. The size chart isn't even close...order at least a size up, maybe two?
Great fit, comfy, and lots of storage
The shorts look and feel great. For context I use these for road running. I'm normally a large in shorts with built in liners and stuck with a large here and they fit great. Plenty of storage for fuel/gels along the belt line and they stay in place with no discomfort. Back pocket fits my phone and is secure (no flopping around like some shorts do). The only thing I noticed as a con is that sometimes the short will ride up a bit but this issue didn't impact performance for me.
Great trail shorts with plenty of storage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are super comfortable for road or trail. The storage negates the need for a waist pack or vest. I put my phone in the front, and there is plenty of space on each side if I want to carry small water bottles or gels. Gels can also fit in the zippered back pocket. There was no bouncing around of the items.
Older version is better
The older xperior shorts are better. With this edition they removed the full drawstring and replaced it with a drawstring that is stitched in. I don't have the confidence to pull it tight or put much in the pockets as the stitched in draw string may tear off. I have more confidence and better fit in a comple drawstring all the way around continuous unbroken.
Best short purchase of the year
I’ve bought many running shorts this year from various brands, and these are one of my favorites. I needed shorts for long runs with plenty of storage capacity around the waist. These shorts deliver on that and more. They are perfectly light and breathable. I loved them so much that I got a second pair.
Lots of pocket space, comfortable, runs small
normally I get the XS shorts from Adidas and whilst ever so slightly tight they usually fit me. XS in these shorts was just way too tight whilst S was the perfect fit. So you might have to size up in these. otherwise they have good pocket space for gels and a Zip pocket at the back for your keys.
