Well Blended Comfort and Function
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lava Loops shorts were obviously designed by actual trail runners. The material is comfortable but stiff, giving good structure to the pants and pockets. The interior liner does not create any chaffing and offers good support. This is among the more comfortable pairs of tights I’ve worn. But it’s the storage that makes the Lava Loops unique. While I don’t usually run with my phone, there are deep side pockets for those that do, and in testing my phone didn’t bounce around during running. Along the front there are three small mesh pockets that are great for nutrition packs on a longer run. And along the back there is a good sized zipper pocket for keys or bank cards. In short, when I dig through my drawer for something to wear on a long morning run, I’ll be looking for the Lava Loops first.
Great overall comfortable short
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a biker at heart and were gifted these shorts, one size too large but found them very comfortable and well made. I wore them for a 25 mile recumbent bike ride and experienced the same level of comfort as I get with my dedicated recumbent bike shorts. My concern with the resizing adjusters getting in the way on the seat back of the bike, proved to be unwarranted. I initially shortened them, but found that they pulled down the back top edge of the shorts more than they pulled up the backside of the shorts. Likely due to the shorts being a size too large. The pocket placement seemed good for activities other than recumbent biking, during which I wouldn’t use the pockets. Great for other exercise like running, hiking, upright biking and in general overall workouts at the club. I would highly recommend these shorts and really love them.
Best shorts for ultras
The best shorts for ultras. As an alternative or addition to a hydration I can fit two 500ml soft flasks and the great flap over the top holds them in place. Waist pockets for gels and my phone fits securely in the rear zip pocket. Buying a second pair!
Side thigh pockets are too loose
The fit, looks, and comfortability of these are great. It has a lot of pockets. The only issue is the large side pocket - it is way too loose to put your phone in. I have other Nike tights and the side pockets are way tighter than these. The material where the side pockets are on these tights causes your phone to bounce and slide like crazy on runs. I wanted to love these tights, but I hate not being able to hold my phone in the side thigh pocket
Brilliant Shorts
These feel very durable and comfortable. Slightly heavier in hand compared to the Aeroswift half tights but no issues when wearing them tbh. Loads of great storage and great quality drawstring. Glad I got them for sure. I got a medium and that’s the same size in other Nike shorts. Perfect for training and racing
Too Long.
Looks great and love the pockets way too long for slightly shorter individuals. Would’ve been great if they were 8 inches.
