Great support 💯, comfortable with breathable mesh . Colour and size fabulously . Perfect 👍
After transitioning from the New Balance Vongo to the Brooks Beast GTS 24, I was initially very pleased with its comfort and stability. But now, following four months of mild use, I'm not sure about the shoe's stability. The heel cup of my left shoe is sinking. I feel the firm edge of the heel digging into my mid-sole, causing very painful running. This is more prominent when I run and strike my heel. I've also noticed this is causing an imbalance in my running gait and have started to feel pain in my knee and lower back. I'm concerned it may lead to a medical condition. Not a happy run after all!
If you’re a big, tall guy with foot issues, this is THE shoe for you. I’m 6’4” tall, about 250 lbs., with a bit of plantar fasciitis in my right foot, and high arches. I had the Beast 20 shoes before this, and these are the perfect replacement for those. Well-cushioned, great arch support, and very stable to walk/run in. The only criticism I can give is that I’d it if the upper reached a little higher on my foot. Having high arches means my foot is taller than usual, so I barely have enough lace-length left to tie them. I can get them tied, but barely, and since the tongue has that elastic strap on one side, it gets pulled toward that a bit.
I'm a longtime Beast 20 lover which fit great and had the perfect combination of support and cushion. Unfortunately both the GTS 23 and this 24 have been too tight around the right big toe while the left foot fits fine, but worse than that, the cushion is too bouncy in the 24, which feels less stable and I have left knee pain from walking in them as well. My podiatrist recommended the Beast around the time of the 20's release, but unfortunately, it seems to no longer be available to purchase in 2E anywhere online, so I'm stuck wearing my old ones, which HAVE held up great as a daily driver. Brooks, please return the Beast to its 20 iteration.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes are stylish and light, a perfect pair to put in my running shoe rotation along with some heavier, more cushioned shoes that I use more often on blacktop. These are the lightest feeling shoes that I can remember wearing, decreasing fatigue and making me feel faster. However, I am most impressed with the style. I normally wear crazy colors while running but then don’t wear those running shoes for other purposes. These shoes have a great blue color but not too wild that I can’t wear these to dinner with the family. The shoes have sufficient cushion, although less than other shoes in my rotation given the trade-off with the weight. Overall, a fantastic running shoe so you can look and feel great while exercising.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Either my foot is changing or Brooks is changing- maybe it’s both? I have been trying to find a true replacement for my Adrenaline GTS 22/23. I have been through 4-5 different Brooks at this point and the Beast GTS cane the closest as far as fit and feel. Decent room for toe-box, a bit too wide in the middle to provide great arch support for my feet though so after a few miles they ached. Good fit on the heel. Nice color scheme but too few choices. The sole under the balls of my feet wore out very quickly. Used for gym, road running and walking, treadmill, casual etc. These were close to what I needed but not quite. Good but not great.
This is the best Brooks shoe I have owned since the Dyad became available years ago. I previously tried the Ghost Max 2, but I prefer the Beast over the Ghost Max 2. They are very stable and are excellent for pronators. My orthotic fits well into the shoe. The feel, fit, toe box, and stability are similar to the Dyad- only better. My profile: I am a walker ( 4+ miles per day) some hills, trails. I also recommend conferring with Brooks online support by text available in the contact link. They were very informative and helped me to decide to purchase the Beast, which they said was better for walking downhills than the Ghost Max 2
My friend in my track team recommended Brooks. I invested in the Brooks Beast GTS, expecting a solid choice for maximum control and cushion to power my long sprint sessions—Go Owls! I run twice a week on our university's 400-meter track, so I absolutely expected these to be a beast! However, this purchase totally fell flat. The shoes are basically failing after just four months of use! I am dealing with a serious asymmetric midsole collapse. The foam cushion in the left shoe is now functionally dead—zero cushion whatsoever—leaving me with one dead-midsole shoe and one seemingly fine shoe. This resulting unevenness is messing my head and game! I mean, come on, this is no Run Happy, this is Run Cry, Cry! Brooks - please do something about it, they are not cheap shoes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a large guy at 6'6 and 320lbs these shoes held up better than any I've had. I've always worn either Asics gel or New Balance 990 series shoes, but now I've found my new favorite. They lasted me 7 months before the side split out of them. Usually I get 4-5 months from the others I mentioned before I had to buy new because my feet would start hurting. These were still comfortable with no pain all the way to the end. I've walked hundreds of miles in these between work and the gym in the last 7 months. I also like the reinforced back on them that keeps them from folding over when sliding my foot in. That's a giant plus for me. Getting ready to buy me another pair now.
The wear on the sole is awful. I noticed a few comments in the reviews but surprised there aren't more. I have been wearing Beasts for years going back to the 14s. I purchased a pair of 23s and was disappointed in the wear, only logging somewhere over 100 walking miles before they wore out. Brooks replaced the 23s with a new pair of 24s. I decided to closely track the wear on my new pair and sure enough, 137 miles walked and the sole, especially the ball of the foot, is almost completely worn out. I had ten pair of 20s and was getting 300 to 400 miles with them. Hope they change the sole for the next version, but not sure what shoe I am going to buy to get me there.
