Terrible brand

Got it on sale, now I know why. The peanut stew and Mexican beef bowl tasted exactly the same as this. I’ve come to the conclusion that this brand just doesn’t have a place in the market with such an inferior product compared to other backpacking meal brands. Stay away from the brand, doesn’t rehydrate well and they have way too many spices fo the point where it’s hard to eat it.

Disappointing

I had high hopes for the Kung Pao Beef. I have had meals from this brand previously, so I decided to give this a try. I never add a dehydrated meal to my stash without a tester first. The meal did have a good amount of beef in it, so that was ok. For me, the flavor was justn't there. I would have been disappointed if this had been my dinner after a long hike.

Surprisingly Delicious and Hearty

I'm not a big fan of freeze-dried meals but this one takes the cake! I brought the Kung Pao and the berry crumble to a camping music festival and all my friends were begging for my leftovers. It took only a few minutes to make, and it was surprisingly delicious and hearty. Will definitely be bringing AlpineAire with me on all future camping trips. 10/10!

Terrible

Has a weird chemical smell, doesn’t taste like anything remotely Chinese. Vaguely spicy and a weird bitter chemical aftertaste. Probably the worst dehydrated food I’ve tried. So happy I didn’t take this on the trail with me.

Putrid

If you like the taste of excrement, you’ll love this. It was the most putrid meal I’ve ever tasted. Other meals from this brand also have a similar synthetic taste. Stay away.

Not bad!

I suggest bringing tortillas and making easy tacos/burritos. Don't forget the hot sauce though.

Gross

Absolutely nasty, overwhelmingly bitter. Maybe because of the peanuts?
