I had some Brooks Ghost 14’s from three years ago and thought I’d try more Brooks since I liked them. I tried Saucony, New Balance these Glycerins, the Ghost 15’s and some others. I ended up buying both these Glycerin’s and the Ghost 15’s which were on clearance. I try to walk seven days a week for at least 30 minutes so I was buying them as a walking shoe. After trying my old Ghost-14’s, the 15’s and the Glycerin’s I favor these Glycerin’s. They have more cushion, even sort of bounce a bit which I believe would be even more benefit to a runner (I used to run) but walking pretty exclusively on concrete they have the cushion I want. They are pretty stable but can give a bit side to side and will tend to sort of push or bounce back. The Ghost 15’s were more stable, good but not as good cushion and I chose them for more casual wear than exercise. If you want max cushion I’d recommend the Glycerins.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Glycerin 21 are true to size and fit my feet snugly, which is exactly how I prefer my running shoes. As a moderate pace short distance runner, I was impressed by the stability and comfort. They are light weight with significant shock absorbing qualities which make running on hard surfaces not only tolerable, but enjoyable. The material has a soft quality feel that is breathable making it so my feet didn’t sweat. This running shoe has a modern, thoughtful design that has me excited about running again. I particularly like that the flat laces stay tight and the removable inserts are easily replaceable. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Quality running shoe for marathons. The shoe colours are fun and have support and still a great cushion feeling. Third pair in the last 7 years. Couldn't rate them high enough!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This running shoe feels better than others I have worn however the style isn't as versatile. This shoe has a lot of support in the heel and seems to help propel forward in the front, it took a little getting used to the front propelling aspect as at first it seems like you are going to fall forward. The sole of the shoe is larger than most and doesn't seem to be proportional so that is where the style becomes a factor for an everyday wear. I would've liked the sole to be a matte finish rather than the shiny to lessen the draw of attention to that area. I will continue to use this as my running shoe and switch to something else for running errands.
Like running on clouds. Great fitting and balanced
The Glycerin series has always been my favorite from brooks. I owned 2 pairs of the Glycerin 20s and decided to try out the new ones. These are marginally better than the 20s, but an upgrade nonetheless. I’m actually very glad that they didn’t make any drastic changes because it was already a nearly perfect package. I pulled these shoes right out of the box and started a 16 mile run within 30 minutes of putting them on. During the run I kept thinking about how great these shoes are and after the run, my feet felt amazing. Will most definitely be buying more of these and if there’s a sale I will likely buy multiple!! Thank you for the great shoes Brooks!
I’m finding my Glycerin 21s to maintain the high standard of comfort. They feel a little less roomy (both width and length in the toebox) than the Glycerin 20s I had in the same size, but still happily running a half size up from my usual shoes. Supportive, absorptive and stable platform as always for the Glycerin line. It might be my imagination, but I think they’re also a bit more responsive than the 20s (which I found to be a little bit dull, being my first go at the nitro foam).
This is my 4th pair of Brooks and my 3rd pair from the Glycerin stable. These banging new 21's are so comfortable and light, every step really feels cloud like! For me, and my knees especially lol, these shoes are incredible for all day use at work or play. This shoe really feels like it has been custom made for me which I feel is the best validation and recommendation I can possibly give!
What a difference this model is. Love the cushioning, everything I need for a recovering double fractured ankle. Also had many compliments on the khaki/white/silver combo. Can wear out easily with a casual outfit. Will be buying another pair.
This is my third pair of Brooks trainers and I absolutely love them. The Glycerin's are especially comfortable. It reminds me of walking over that spongy stuff they lay in kids playgrounds for safety. And that's what I felt wearing them. Hop, skip, jump, run or walk, they are comfortable and secure. Sadly, I guess they were paid the ultimate compliment because two weeks after I bought them someone stole them from outside my apartment door. So my advice to you all is to treat them like one of the family and really look after them. They are 'gold dust' trainers and I am sincerely mourning their loss. I will however, not hesitate to buy another pair.
