Size 13 DOES fit XL well, disregard other review.

I wear a true size 13 shoe, and these are the first merino socks I’ve worn aside from the Icebreaker, and smartwool Brands. These compare just as well if not better, although, I can’t tell you all of the names of those brands socks that I own I will tell you that these Arc’Teryx socks bode just as well in every aspect, and I even find these a little more comfortable, especially for size 13. Again, these are immensely comfortable, but not as thick as some of my other merinos. They will do well for anything daily/casual, and light hikes/camping. Highly recommend, ended up buying two more pairs.

Size Matters!

At first I didn't believe other reviews talking about sizes go really small, I'm a 10.5 and the Large Size sock size guide stating it goes up to 11.5, so I thought how bad could it be? It arrived, I tried them on, it's BARELY a 9.5 fit, REAL TIGHT So I returned all to store, ordered XL while discounts still available, now they are a comfortable fit Much thicker than Smartwool PhD socks

Beware of Sizing

I worked for Arc for 7 years and, as with everything else they make compared to other major retailers, these socks run a bit on the small side, most notably (in my experience) through the toe box. It is not a deal breaker if you can get the appropriate size but WILL cause discomfort otherwise. I wear a size 10 and picked an appropriate sock. When I noticed the discomfort, I expected, as others have, for the sock to stretch and after 5 wears and washes with ~40 miles on them, they have not. I would suggest a rework of the sizing label as everything else about the sock is great in my opinion.

Trash quality

Wear one time and all the socks wore out. So bad quality for Arc. And I have to throw it away.

I recently wore them on my hike up in #tatras mountains, the felt really soft, kept my feet dry and ventilated. Im glad I bought 24 pairs (8 of each lenght) i’m ready for the next three seasons.

XL Extremely Small For Size 13 (US)

I have two pairs and they cut off the circulation in my feet unless I'm moving. Extremely tight around the top of my ankle, exerting immense pressure on the veins. When I sit down, within a minute my feet begin to have pins-needles sensation from lack of circulation. First socks I've ever had that have done this. I've even tried, with my hands, pulling the sock-opening open, trying to stretch it a little, but the nylon interior keeps it the same size. I exercise 5-7+ miles a day.

Saved my marriage.

These socks are great. They hold on to my feet perfectly, Maybe it's because I have slender feet... maybe it's how my mother taught me to put on socks many years ago... Either way, they are great, the lightweight nature of these socks means my feet still feel free, like a magpie on a pile of trash. The primary difference being that because they are wool they don't stink, and I have feet that destroy socks. Foot odor so pungent in regular synthetics that they ward off vampires and pizzly bears, the scent has even been known to force the rare northwestern flying squirrel to change its flight course. My wife isn't into feet, but with these wonderful socks we now share the same bed again, and for that I am thankful. (Also super stoked that I can now wear socks guilt-free because the wool wasn't made of dead dinosaurs.)

Sizing is fine

This is the fourth brand of merino ankle socks I have owned. I wear a 10.5 and bought size large. I have washed them three times and the sizing remains spot on. Since they are merino I have taken care to dry them on low. Merino can shrink if not cared for properly. I find these socks very soft and comfortable. I think these are the softest merino socks I have owned. Durability is TBD as one month is too short to know.
