Socks are Not what I expected
These socks out of all my Rei socks are the only ones that make my feet stink. Non other and it’s all I wear, my wool and other socks don’t have that affect on my feet. I’m throwing them away.
Nice Socks
These socks are very comfortable and cushy. The extra band around the ankle really does keep them from falling down, and they were comfortable all day. They are also fairly warm, and kept my feet comfy when tent camping with 40 deg temps overnight.
Feels like the yarn changed
I’ve worn these since I first discovered them at REI. Best fabric ever! I buy a dozen (thanks REI 3 pair discount!) so I have a weeks worth plus changes for rain days and the spares I have in the pack. Favorite fresh socks are a real boost when a day goes hard.. These don’t feel like the same fabric at all. It’s almost like a plastic sock. Gonna wash them twice and see.
Just enough cushion
Very soft and not too warm. I find it very hard to understand Balega models in terms of cushion. This one is less thin (warm/fuzy) than Hidden Comfort but more so than Ultraglide. I like that they are a little taller than Ultraglide to protect the anklebone. The cushion on the toes helps with blister protection. I probably would not race road marathons/halfs in these but they're great for daily training.
Excellent socks
These are terrific socks for running and golf - probably many more activities. The socks mold around your feet and don’t slip. I wear them mostly for golf because the sides and tongue of golf shoes rub on low-profile socks. They are also very durable.
I appreciate the "Small" size
I purchased the size small and they fit great. I measure as a 7.5 but I wear a 8 or 8.5 wide for comfort.
