Good EDC

Good bag, with some obvious flaws.

Mystery Ranch bags are all solid. This bag is no exception. Great organization, materials, and comfy shoulder strap. It has a nice modern style and is easy to carry around. It does have some shortcomings however. The velcro on the front opening is loud and unnecessary. Some other closure system would be better. Velcro is outdated. This bag needs a small top handle. Also, if they add just an inch of size it would fit a small laptop. If this bag were able to just barely hold a 13 MacBook Air it would be a much better, more useful and sellable product.

Almost perfect EDC pack

My 2nd Mystery Ranch pack, satisfied with the overall quality/design though a loose thread is found: - light weight, just enough padding/storage for daily use - pack stays close to the body due to slim design and comfortable to wear - the straps can be adjusted very easily and separately on the front and back, without altering the position of the shoulder pad Hope for upgrades in next version: - slightly thicker main compartment for storing thicker items occasionally - simple webbing handle like the Hip Monkey instead of a loop - separate flaps for the front pockets with magnetic closure instead of velcros

Needs a handle!

Excellent bag, well made with great internal organization and pockets. I absolutely love it as a day bag as I mostly work with an iPad. The problem comes when you try and pick up the bag by anything other than the strap. The addition of a handle in place of the little loop on top would make this perfect. Another minor suggestion would be to add swivels for the shoulder strap.

Great EDC camera bag + Stationary

I bought this bag for carrying my stationaries, book, and camera. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. For the stationary part, it fits A5/B5 size notebooks easily, has a pocket for pens, and has multiple zip pockets for small items. I like to put the book I'm currently reading on the go in the outside pocket on the back so it's not taking up space in the bag. To my surprise, the bag fits an SLR camera (camera needs to be laid down, lens up), or a DSLR with a small-ish lens (camera sitting right-side up). Since it has no padding on the bottom, I just put a piece of cloth/cam wrapper on the bottom. In addition to all of these, the bag has two front pockets which I use for my EDC pouch and keys / small items. The strap is super comfortable and easy to adjust. It looks nice in both shoulder bag style and sling style. I like mine in green but I am literally thinking of buying another one in different color just bc it's that good!

Best man purse

My husband is a firefighter and gear nerd who recently noticed his aging body (nearing 50) no longer tolerates sitting on a wallet in back pocket. He had been looking for something for a while and got this on-request for Christmas. He has since used it every time we leave the house! It holds a lot and has tons of organization features, yet is still slim and discrete. Neither of us are purse people—tend to go fanny pack or backpack, but this size is perfect for visiting family or being out around town all day. It is comfortable, functional, sturdy, and looks good on him.

Perfect for more than pockets, less than backpack

I have a 2 Day Assault that has been my EDC for years and is perfect for when I have to take books and my computer on the go. However, sometimes I just need my iPad and a few other things. So I got this to carry everything I needed when I wanted to just take my iPad in somewhere. I can have my cords, notebooks, a small book, and all of the day to day (pens, etc.) so that I just grab this and the iPad. The only thing that is not perfect about it is the strap length. I knew this going in, but as a 6'6" man, the bag sits in my armpit or just below, instead of at my hip where I would prefer. This is not the fault of the bag or Mystery Ranch, just something to be aware of (and I was when I bought it). Overall, thankful to have it and excited to use it for years to come.

Great as an urban day pack, except…

… I wish the strap was longer and could be adjusted as it’s just a bit too short to be comfortable. I just purchased this prior to a recent trip to Vegas where I used it to carry my phone, cash, rental car key fobs, sunglasses, pens, wallet, and so on (all stuff I didn’t want crammed into my short’s pockets, it’s a shame cargo shorts have gone out of style). My only issue is that the strap isn’t adjustable and the length, for me, made it a little uncomfortable after hours of use. Otherwise: 5 stars

That dang shoulder strap

I was doubtful about picking this up due to what seemed like an overbuilt shoulder strap. The Labor Day sale helped me make the jump. The factory design assumes you'll wear this on your right hip. I prefer left hip carry, which puts the quick release buckle behind me. It was simple enough to remove the strap stitching, flip it, and sew back down. The pad feels great but does not slide separately from the strap. It's the middle third of the strap no matter what you do. The quick slide triglides used on either end of the shoulder pad are great. I would much rather have a continuous nylon strap with a separate, removable pad even if it's thinner. While the volume of the bag can lend itself to over stuffing, I don't often carry enough weight in this type of bag to need any padding at all.

Perfect fishing bag

I have been looking for a fishing bag and saw the district 8 bag on the web site. I recently purchased this bag and I could be happier. It holds all my fly boxes, tippers leaders and on her necessary items. It’s very comfortable and tucked out of the way while fishing. The shoulder strap has easy adjustment and is comfortable. The bag is very well made and is constructed from recyclable materials which is very appealing. A great product

Great small satchel

This is a great pack for small EDC. Travelled with it cross country used it to carry medic essentials and person item. Worked great. Would have been nice to have way to have it attach easier to a large pack, so I have decided to sew a piece of industrial Velcro to the back of the district 8 and then to the side of my kelty pack then I can store it together more easily. Overall, great EDC pack. Totally worth the buy
