I can find my way out of a paper bag, and...
If you will be using as both a bar bag and shoulder bag, and enjoy the annoying process of having to fold and tuck away the straps every time to convert to a bar bag, then this bag is for you! If you're a sensible person who questions why Rapha would permanently attached the shoulder strap, when it could've (more) easily let it slide through; well then, this is not the bag for you. I didn't know about this prior to purchase, and returned prior to using. Otherwise, construction wise, it is solid, and I liked that it had no issue sitting below a forward computer mount and away from the head tube (to avoid rubbing).
Ignore the other reviewer, buy this bag.
Great materials, great colors as is expected wjth Rapha. Please PLEASE ignore the other reviewer, he clearly couldn’t find his way out of a brown paper bag. The bag has straps to Mount to your bike which arrive stowed when it’s shipped. It does come with the cross strap attached. It appears he didn’t notice the mounting straps tucked into the bag. I’m a big fan of these types of designs since you can load the bag up, go ride and then when you get to your destination - take it off the bike and carry it as a crossbody piece.
Decent bar bag
After searching for bar bags and getting a ton of targeted ads on every social media platform I have, I finally arrived on this bag. Why? Because I’m a millennial and I’m here for the hype brands. In all seriousness this is a solid bag. The two compartments are nice and shoulder strap THAT YOU CAN TUCK AWAY is a great idea after I hop off my bike to grab a cold IPA. Waterproofness: unknown. I probably won’t be riding in the rain because I’m a fair weather rider. Downsides: main compartment only has elastic loops to hold tools, gels, etc. it would be nice to be more organized on the inside. Lastly, if you’ve got a shorter handlebar width, the bag might interfere with hand placement. I’ve got a small Canyon Grail and it’s a little cramped. Most of the time I’m on the outside of the bars so it doesn’t really bother me.
Need to modify this bag
I just purchased this bag and have not used it or modified it yet. I was hoping to find an answer here as all the Rapha Bags I see online are slightly different. This bag came with an attached long over the shoulder strap. This is great if you want to carry the bag over your shoulder. However is awful if you want to use this as a bar bag. I don't have any idea how to secure or stow the attached strap and the only alternative I can see is to cut it off and lose the functionality of having over the shoulder capabilities. Poor design as a bar bag, and not great as an over the shoulder bag. I may change my review if I get a solution to this problem. The bag appears to be durable and quality materials.
Fantastic Bag - Purple is gorgeous
I have fairly narrow handlebars and was worried this would be too big, but it's perfect. I use it for my gravel/allroad bike. Especially love the interior elastic to sort your stuff so that it's not just a black hole like most other bags. Tiny zipper pocket in front is great for keys, plus there's a clip that is perfect for my front flashing bike light. Easy to tuck the waistpack straps under when using as a bike bag, too. I know that Rapha has a great warranty on their gear, so that's a bonus.
