Not durable...run narrow...DO NOT recommend!

Have been using the Brooks ghost range for my 20+ mile/week walking for the past 10 odd years but have not experienced such poor workmanship. These Ghost 14 are already showing wear just after 4 months of use although I am alternating usage with my Ghost 12 from 2020...The bluish fabric around the ankle rim is already ripping...see the photo below with my 3-year-old Ghost 12 still looking newer than these new shoes. They also run very narrow in the toe box, causing sore spots over the bunion on my right foot that begins hurting each time just after a mile or so of walking...wondering if a return is possible.

Not the color pictured…

First I just want to say that I love this shoe. Extremely comfortable, great support and amazing for running, walking or workout related activities! But the reason I gave them 3 stars is because I ordered the limited edition 186 - Heather/Violet/Ebony in a size 10.5, and they are not the color pictured at all. The color pictured shows bright vibrant colors of purples oranges and pinks, but showed up purple and teal. I’m super disappointed because that’s not the color I ordered, and I wish there was better representation of the real colors. Not super fun to get a expensive new pair of workout shoes and them to not be what you pictured…

Miracle

I started running in middle school and ran all through college. I am now 42 years old and had decided that running was something that was no longer in the cards for me. I would suffer with such severe hip and knee pain when only running a mile. Since finding the Brooks Ghost sneakers I have been running pain free. I just completed my first 6 mile run this past weekend. PAIN FREE! It has been years and I truly feel these shoes are a miracle. Brooks Ghosts have given me the love of running back! I talk to anyone who will listen about these sneakers and all that they have done for me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Ghost 14

Brooks Ghost 14 This is my 3rd pair of Brooks Ghost (2 prs of Ghost 13 purchased from a running store) in several months & I’m quite pleased to say this pair of Ghost 14 (size 11 wide), which was offered to me in return for an honest review, is living up to every step in my busy on-the-go job as well as running & weight room workouts. The soft, mesh upper over the forefoot allows a little give for my bunion without causing pressure or pain. Heel stays put nicely in this heel cup. The support of the shoe seems to help keep my hips & back in alignment as there’s no back or shoulder discomfort after long shifts or runs--meaning I feel pretty darn good wearing these shoes!

YES!! Glad I gave it a try.

Amazing!!! I've worn the Ghost line in the past but move onto the Adrenaline for a bit as the GTS line was better serving my knees, hips and ankles. After trying the Ghost 13 line I was really hesitant to the purchase the 14's as the 13's weren't working for me. I'm so glad these shoes were designed in a new way. The toe box is wider than the 13's, the cushion is much better and the new laces stay tied. I'm so excited to transition back to the Ghost line. The Adrenaline line served it's purpose and not it's time to focus in a more neutral shoe. I'm really hoping a Nightlife color in the women's line is released.

Yes , I recommend this product

Poor Quality

I've bought Brooks Ghost shoes at REI for several years now and generally have been happy with their quality. These shoes, however, have been a huge disappointment. After wearing them for less 4 months on walks only, they already have significant holes on the inside of the shoe and holes forming on the outer toe. For the price, I would expect closer to a year or so of walking before having such extreme visible wear.

I really wanted to like the Ghost 14

I loved the Ghost 12! It fit well, was attractive, and very comfortable. The Ghost 14 seems similar to the Ghost 12, except for the design of the tongue. The narrow tongue of the Ghost 14 lacks the cushioning that I need in this area for comfort and for preventing the shoe from slipping when I use it for daily walks. (I have tried tying my shoes in different ways to prevent the slipping, but that did not help.) I hope Brooks changes this aspect of this shoe! If the tongue was the same as the one on the Ghost 12, I would buy multiple pairs of the Ghost--one for exercise, one for casual wear, and one of the Ghost GTX for exercise on rainy days.

NEW FAVORITE SHOE

I absolutely love these shoes. I have had them for almost a month now and wear them for general (street and sidewalk) walks and also for indoor walk aerobic classes several times per week. There was NO break-in period. Best is that I was suffering from a pinched nerve on my left 'back-side' and that has been nearly eliminated. I rarely even feel any issues since I switched to these. No more skipping walks or taking lots of meds to fix the pain. I now wear these shoes exclusively for any exercise or walk-abouts. I went ahead and ordered two more pairs in other colors as back ups. My friend gave me the recommendation and I am so glad she did.

Not Just for Running!

I’ve been wearing nothing but Brooks’ Addiction and Ghost shoes for almost 20 years. My first pair was upon the advice of a neurologist and aimed at helping me navigate life more safely. I have a neurological disorder and am a frequent faller. I can’t run, but my Brooks allow me to walk in great comfort and with great stability. Snd I put them to the test..,I walk 6-7 miles every day, 365 days a year in every type of weather on every type of terrain. I have very high arches and insteps and also over supinate. My podiatrist also told me to stick with my Brooks because they were the best walking shoes for me. Love them, love them, love them!!
